Who's got one of those handheld weighing-hook thingies?
I'll bring you two beers if I can just roll over and weigh my minivelo (for shipping..).

• #103459
if you have some regular bathroom scales, weigh yourself, then weigh yourself holding the bike and bingo

• #103460
Yep but in w2

Bathroom scales are one of the things I gave away when I was leaving, in April.. -

This is a long shot, anyone think they can guess what bar tape this is from a pic and description? It’s a kind of moleskin texture, very grippy and has a tacky backing across the whole of the back of the tape which is now going a bit sticky. It’s not cork tape. Was bright red, though now fading into a Pogweasel pink. It came on some bars I acquired so I don’t know what it is. Would love to replace it like for like if I can find it.
Obvs can’t find the bar tape thread else I’d spam up there instead!

Wut. Didn't know he was on a tv show. Thought he was a myspace/popjustice phenomenon.

A buddy is trying to start a new business in a Lambeth park, and they’ve replied that he can ‘bid’ for a 7m^2 plot the project needs. Apparently, bidding means unilaterally making an offer. What’s a reasonable amount to offer for the plot, located off the beaten track so not really prime real estate? He needs to have £5mill insurance in place (Hiscox charges £90 for £2mill), and stands to make £35/hour part time, if he has any customers.

I'm looking to hire a small van for an A to B trip - pick up in London and drop off in Glasgow. Enterprise etc quotes come in around £300 for 3 days' hire. Does that sound about right? Or am I missing a trick, is there a service that specialises in A to B and has more reasonable prices?

^^ sram say no ok x

How soon do you need it? Compare the cost of that one-way hire versus a return hire plus an onward train ticket or flight, or a starting leg to hire in Manchester and a finishing leg from Manchester to Glasgow.

My Sunday best bike needs a service. It's not critical but needs doing. I've got work bike for transport. Would now be the time to get it done ?
Is it a bad idea because bike shops are snowed under and mechanics are frazzled having been so overworked, is it socially responsible ? I would like to ride it this "summer", it what it's for and miss not riding it because I'm scared of making it worse, braking something.

Why not? You might need to book a couple of weeks in advance, but most LBS’s will be happy to take on work. Whereabouts are you?
Dear me. No.
