If they explode it's not a fortune to replace. I've had several wheels from that company over the years. They're not bad.

There perfectly good for what’s needed. Anything pricier would just be excessive for a bike your boy will probably outgrow in no time.
No to mention he won’t care of branding I’d have thought. He’ll just want to ride regardless

Yeah. Will do a job. That job is to have fun.
Thanks for the research and time.

Someone is selling this nukeproof scout 27.5 in large with hope wheels, hubs, e4 brakes, a reverb and revelations on Facebook near me for £800. Can't see any stolen bike reports for it and seems a bargain.

What's the hive mind on this as a Cotic Soul alternative? Geometry wise looks newer and slacker, probably more similar to a Cotic BFe actually. Also can Pace's size recommendation be trusted for somebody 6ft (large frame?).

Yeah, looks like it'll fit someone 6ft.
There's a couple of things about that bike though everything anodised is a different colour, and those fork graphics 🤮, but other than that it's purple enough for me.

Agreed, it's visually noisey but confident it could be saved. The wheels look especially busy, if the seller confirms the rims can be destickered I might submit a cheeky offer. Priorities obviously.

Bit of de-stickering and some new grips and you're set

A heat gun will soften up the stickers and goo-gone can remove the residue.
Bonus: @BareNecessities will stop moaning about the stickers.

Had a squiz at the geometry and think it would be good for your height (I’m the same height and really considered this frame a few months ago). Also think you could really easily make it look great!
If you’re coming from a bmx background I also think you’d find 29” wheels to be boring as hell. I’ve come from bmx too and 27.5 on my large frame Nukeproof still feel enormous but getting used to them and I think they’re a good balance between getting down anything on the trails and being able to throw it around in the air.
Am I right in thinking you’re Herts. based? If I’m not mistaken I’m near Harpenden and your welcome to pop up and have a smash around on mine to get a feel for sizing (frame and wheels).

Thanks for the thoughts, basically I've ridden road for 10 years and want to have some fun in the woods. 27.5 sounds more of what I want from a mtb, although point taken about 29 being better for long days covering distance. Yes I'm in Herts and that's very kind, think I've concluded 650b is what I'll try but if I have any doubts I'll get in touch, or maybe post purchase thanks! Lovely bike too.
@Aroogah it does look a bit much I agree, those grips...

• #17145
Grips are cheap. Also, and this will break the forum, no one actually cares what you ride. Just that you ride.

This looks nice!
Yup. I think I have a line on some out of Germany but they are awaiting some new stock. Not as bad as the random ones on eBay and not as expensive as the Halos or the Spanks.
OEM is something I hadn't considered. The bike is an Orbea. Let me hit up one of their UK retailers and see of they can get a hold of them.
