  • Is trying to put a JIS crown race on there stupid?

Should be OK if you can find one, but I couldn't see a suitable one on a brief search.

  • Much obliged

  • Shimano deore hg500 mega 10 speed cassette
Shimano altus M370 9 speed mech
Shimano alivio fcm 430 9 speed chainring (on zee cranks with deore BB for all you transmission completists)

What chain ? Hg54? Or let the bike shop laugh themselves silly?

  • Something 10s.
    What shifter are you using?

  • TT bar end Shimano 10s

  • It's a custom bespoke very artisanal niche thing.

  • KMC 10 speed, thank me later.

What cassette ratio? Might need an extender to make the 9 speed mech work.

Also, regular chainring might not work depending on your ratio, might be worth getting a narrow wide Raptor chainring from Superstar Components.

  • 44 t front ring
    11 - 42 megarange

thanks for the chain tip, KMC X10 yeah?

  • Bike shop just phoned to say that the freehub on my Dura Ace 9000 rear hub is shot.

    New freehub costs £200.

    Entire new hub costs £200.

    What are my options?

  • By my reckoning, either replace the entire hub and rebuild the wheel or fit a new freehub.

  • Buy new hub, use the freehub and have spare bearings etc

  • i did not know this.... my bad

  • Buy a new bike.
    but 4 srs:
buy a new hub, have wheel rebuilt.

  • Buy new hub, use the freehub and have spare bearings etc

@Bainbridge This is the traditional way to service Shimano hubs - full guts transplant.

  • Ok thanks. Pisses me off that it's so expensive but at least I get something extra for the price over the £200 freehub.

  • Anyone got a DA9000 rear hub going for cheaps?

  • As I won't be using the shell the drilling is superfluous right? There are some slightly cheaper options out there with different drillings than my current hub.

  • As I won't be using the shell the drilling is superfluous right?

    Yes.

  • Great.

    Only £170 then.

  • What diameter is the seatpost on a Pashley Poppy?
Can’t find any spec for the life of me.

  • Order Champagne & I'll drop the chairs off for free!

Joke aside, PedalMe will cost more than £50.
They charge on a time spent + km so it'll be more than that.

I have received a mail from ZEN Hackney with the following:
    Courier Offers

Pedivan offer ZEN business members 1 Free Delivery Under £50 and 15% Off Future Deliveries. Resident members can get 15% Off Deliveries. Pedivan can also collect your online shopping as click and collect orders.

Zedify offer ZEN business members 1 free day of deliveries by cargobike. Zedify have set up a zero contact, zero emission, same day delivery service and they offer online booking and tracking.

Pedal Me are currently offering a 1/3 off discount for passenger and cargo delivery jobs. Read more here. Pedal Me also offer same day delivery on local groceries and supermarket essentials.

  • Used it a lots, extremely handy for certain customers.

  • Ah damn, if only you'd posted this on Sudnay I would have taken you up on that.

Pedal Me did it for under £30 (I was surprised too). Thanks for the alternatives though.

  • Is the freehub the same as on the Dura Ace WH9000-C24/C35 wheels? Those hubs can generally be picked up pretty cheaply.

Edit: Yes, it is - part number Y3DZ98060.

  • Will this weird mix of components shift?

    1. Campag 10 speed drop bar shifters/brakes
    2. TA Specialites Cyclotouriste double cranks with no ramps/pins (48/36)
    3. 7 speed freewheel
    4. 8 speed chain.

Will it shift at the front, I'm fairly confident it will shift at the back.
    Thanks
