Is there a Jeans et Scheux thread?

I just restocked with a variety selection.
Will report when all have appeared. -

Ha, it took me more than a few seconds when I opened the box to realise that I hadn't been shipped mouldy peanuts. Or Smurf poo.
The pre-roasted ones are pretty good. Not as deep a flavour as when I've roasted myself so will definitely continue doing my own roasting.

Just seen this thread, as a born "Nederlander" I have been stuffing myself with it since forever. Was told that Calvé was the one and only.
Until I gifted my girlfriend a Magimix food processor 2 years ago and we started making our own nut butters. Tricky part is to get the roasting just right.
Hazelnut is the house favorite, especially as an oatmeal topping.

Ants on a log is an absolute classic PB snack.
I can only assume + sourdough + cream cheese = extra win. -
• #563
With extra liver sausage is another variant

Yeah, I get that. It's using PB or something else with some taste to cover the piece of shit that is celery. What's happened above is someone actually working on celery and then adding it to something that's already nice, thereby turning it into a the sandwich version of a fatberg.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but the Stuff You Should Know guys dedicated an episode of their podcast to pb.

@dbr I'm conflicted with regards this thread. It's visionary to have one, yet I CANNOT believe you've gone this long before discovering the joys of a decent PB. Post ride gem for me is inspired by Lanark. Toasted Banana bread, Crunchy PB (Currently Biona), Salt (if it was a long one, also jam). Best use of PB is in the following sandwich: bread, PB, crispy bacon, cucumber. Thank me later.

What’s the conflict? I’m a late starter but I’m making good!
-
• #569
The eternal conflict is smooth or crunchy.

This may have already been covered - Asda sell pip and nut butters.

Wasn’t Elvis’s favourite a sub roll filled with peanut butter, bacon and a banana, then deep fried? Never worked out how that would work without everything disintegrating into the oil. If it was battered before frying, then it would work.

50/50 skins/blanched. Added a fair bit of walnut oil as the last lot was sticking to the roof of my mouth.

The conflict, I suppose, is your enlightened (pre-PB) self coming to PB so late, when all this time I was there thinking enlightenment wasn't possible without it. Either way, chuffed to have you on board.

Pip and Nut Super Roasted coming in strong on my rating scale. Its like a less intense Manilife Deep Roast, with less salt. I think its 9/10, pushing towards OG Manilife goodness.
Other PBs I've tried this week:
Funky nut - unsalted- good, but not great. 6/10
Funky Nut- Chocolate- should be good, is a bit of a mis 5/10
Funky Nut- Honey +Sea Salt- too sweet for me, but ok 6/10
Funky Nut- Salt + black pepper- interesting, less good than butter bike or Jackpots savoury spreads, 7/10Not peanut butter but I like it:
Pip and Nut Blueberry Muffin. Dangerously good. 9/10
Vive Bars Peanut Butter and Jelly 'Protein' bar- 8.5/10. No random shit in it. Really good.I'm putting in the hard yards for you all.

PBAS salute you and wonder at your sacrifice in the name of PB nirvana.
I think at the time I thought adding cream cheese to the mix wasn't great if you're lactose intolerant, so added other binding foods like rice syrup and peanut butter.
