Going to take them to my LBS tomorrow I think and get them to go through them I think! 19mm cross section if I measured right!
The carbon on the rims is looking a little dry/weathered, anyone have any tips to freshen this back up?

Full bike pic coming this weekend when I've had a chance to get a pic in daylight! My flat is not particularly great lighting wise ;-)

Looks particularly angry, pics tomorrow.

Shakedown run today. Love it.
Got some Zipp Service-course TB bars, little thin for my liking. Thoughts/suggestions on going to flat bars?
Thinking some EC90’s.

So finally had some time to tinker with both the P and the Dale today.
Picked up some 685mm EA50’s (might chop them down a bit to be honest as they’re massive) but unbelievable how much more rigid the bike feels now than when it had drops on.
I’ve also swapped out the Thomson seatpost/clamp/seat etc for some more commuter friendly cheap/comfy parts. I am looking for another seatpost that isn’t laid back however as this stretches me out a little too much.
Also, finally sucked it up and put an 8 degree stem on the P rather than a 17. My back honestly can’t handle it, still think anything other than the stem slammed and flat with your top tube looks a little goofy (only my opinion) but I’ll have to make do for now!
Pics of the P coming tomorrow when I get out on it properly, for now some rainy London pics off the Dale!

Enjoying this a lot at the moment as a daily ride but currently annoying me having to clip in carry other shoes with me everywhere.
Anyone some recommendations on some nice flat black pedals and straps? complete noob to pedal straps so some direction would be helpful!
Thanks

Power Grips - https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/toe-clips-straps/power-grips-trapfree-cycle-toe-straps-black/
or you can modify a pair of Vans to have a cleat attached and still ride clipless with normal shoes. I'll see if I can find a link.

I use MTB SPDs and some very bright blue Shimano RT5 shoes. They have recessed cleats so you can walk in them happily enough. They also make me a few mm taller

I’ve actually ended up just ordering one of the Skout Velos! But this also seems to work pretty well.

Managed to get out on the Principia this morning. Thought I was okay with the 8 degree stem instead of the 17 (for my backs sake) but aesthetically doesn't do it for me. So have just managed to get a black Zipp SL pretty cheap (in 17 deg) to replace for shorter rides.
Also finding my seat post ever so slightly slipping down when using for a long time. Cant seem to budge it when I'm stationary, any ideas? Has the right size clamp and post as far as im aware and definitely hasn't always done this.
I heard carbon bonding paste could work? But any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as its extremely annoying

Tacx carbon paste did the job for me.

Thomson seatposts are useless. Save yourself the nagging doubt and switch it out.

Did you have any issues with removing the post after a while? Also did you use it on a Aluminium frame? Thanks!
-
• #74
Do you mean the clamp? Yeah I was also thinking this... any ideas of something nice that may do the job better?

No I mean the actual seatposts. I had a similar issue with mine then if you start googling it you'll find loads of people complaining about them slipping.
In my case the seatpost is stamped 27.2 but I can get a whole coke can shim inside the seattube. I think it's actually a 26.8 to be honest. There's a long boring story behind it.
I had to over-torque my thomson stem too to stop that slipping, so in short, I've given up on thomson stuff. Try the carbon paste though - it may work for you.
I have no issues with my thomson seatclamp - works fine with any other seatpost I've used.
Nice, make sure you get some all weather seals and thick grease on those hubs if you're gonna use them in the wet. What profile are the rims?
@e54 sadly I just couldn't justify a bike that wasn't getting used. Lockdown kind of scuppered my summer track plans and apparently I like road bikes now.
