Mig, you're right. Those mounts are not intended to be load-bearing. Definitely guard mounts only.

Needed to upgrade my commuter / winter bike. Arkose D3 was a good option.

Nah, short short stem like an MTB, like the On-one Bootzipper.

If you want long stem, you can always go XS, as the stack is pretty much equal to a traditional Large road bike.

Latter come with spacer to fit between BB and shell to allow an MTB chainset to fit on 68mm shell.

If you’re running a road hollowtech BB; go for whichever the cheapest.

The threaded part is slightly longer than the road version to accommodate the spacer.

All done.
