  • is there a a flavour difference between freshly ground peanut butter and the 100% jarred stuff?

  • Irish Moss: very thick served out the fridge, like Ambrosia custard, in a good way. Tasted pretty sea weedy, but somehow not in a bad way. Not much to do with peanuts but quite weirdly nice. Plenty sugar but almost not protein so not going to replace a post ride shake anytime soon.

3/5. Would buy again, as an ironic gift for a friend.

  • Tinned pears and yoghurt with Pip & Nut and dark chocolate chips.

    Why not?

  • Excellent. Cheers for the review dude. Nothing you have said has put me off. On the contrary

Just need to sort a supply line here in Suffolk

  • Spotted a new one in the local coffee shop this morning. No palm oil, has something called organic yacon syrup & pink Himalayan sea salt. Sounds fancy. It’s good, slightly grainy texture and high on the crunch. Would buy again.

  • Brilliant thread. My go too pre ride snack is whatever bread is in the cupboard, buttered, smothering of jam, then a smothering of whatever peanut butter is in. Got to say, I'm definitely a fan of the 'whole earth' texture over the more oily types.

Also, made this a little while back and it was alright!

    Any more sticker runs?!

  • sorry for going quiet on the stickers, i haven't done another batch yet but i'll try and get some printed later today once i've changed my ink cartridge.
i'll update the thread when they're done.

  • These are the best chocolate peanut butter cookies I have tried. And there have been many attempts: https://smittenkitchen.com/2018/02/chocolate-peanut-butter-cup-cookies/

  • I've been making PB in my nutribullet for a while now. It's a total PITA as the cups are so tall and thin everything just clumps at teh top so you have to constantly shake it or unscrew the lid and scoop it down - takes frikkin ages. Treated myself to a food processor and it's made all the difference!
Chuck a bunch of nuts in, blast for a few seconds until smashed up, remove and put to the side. Fill up again with loads of nuts and leave it running until you get a nice smooth consistency. Chuck the crunchy bits back in and give it a spin until it's mixed in nicely. Done! 2-3 mins for a kg of the good stuff.

  • We received a shipment of Butterbike PB today.

Game changer. A real step up from Meridian/Pip&Nut etc etc

  • Price?

    Nevermind: https://www.butterbike.co.uk/buy-peanut-butter

It's double the price of P&N. I bet it's not twice as good. But it's got bike in the name so I'm prepared to risk it.

"Thanks heaps for all the support" - are they Aussie? Of course it tastes better. Kiwi or at least spent time there. I take it back. :P

  • Woo! Cinnamon and raisin???
@hippy I'm not a P&N fan so I won't comment on that, but I recently gave @platypus a sandwich with it in(prepared with gloves on and handed over in a socially distanced manner)- the review was v positive.

  • I've instructed Procurement to source me some.

  • It's double the price of P&N. I bet it's not twice as good.

Totally agree that its not twice as good. I reckon 23.1% better.

In terms of value, Jana bought it so it was freeeeee. My finances are more Skippy than P&N at the moment.

  • Woo! Cinnamon and raisin???

No, 1kg of almost smooth, small jar of crunchy and small jar of smoked chilli ftw.

The smoked chilli one is the first flavoured PB I've really liked. They've put a little smoked paprika in it too...really works. Will definitely try the cinamon and raisin one. If they've done it as well as the smoked chilli flavour, its going to be awesome.

  • I think I've said before the missus actually prefers Pics but it's also twice the price of P&N so she doesn't buy it very often.

  • PB and marmite...

Had it on sourdough with lunch and on oatcakes as a post pedal snack just now.

Marmite on first is the winner for both taste and presentation I think.

  • Going to try that with bovril right now

  • Gross. This page needs to go away.

  • Nah marmite and PB is banging. I just use a tiny bit of marmite to add savouriness though.

  • Yeah Marmite definitely less is more always

  • PB and marmite is a winner, forum approved.

    See earlier in the thread.

  • Marmite can go fuck itself
