• I may need to replace my Rotor 3D24 P2Max S-Type, as the chainset looks to be on it's way out and it seems to be a good opportunity to upgrade the PM.

It's been rock solid, so I'm almost certainly going to buy another P2Max. Is there any reason to go for the NG over the NGECO? I'm not bothered by USB recharging and have a hefty supply of the batteries left, so am happy to go battery.

  • The NGeco is accurate to +/-2% rather than +/-1% for the NG. It doesn't have L/R balance (although on the NG it's not that accurate anyway since there's no independent measurement of each side anyway) and it doesn't give a figure for 'pedal smoothness', whatever that is, although the latter two are upgradeable if you want useless data. In short, no. If you're happy with replacing batteries rather than recharching, there's no appreciable benefit from the NG.

I have both. Can't really tell the difference between them frankly, other than the rechargeable battery.

Could be interested in the 3D24 power meter though...

  • Appreciate the reply and as I suspected.

I’ll let you know if and when I make the move (I’ve been given a tip on how to fix the chainset issue, so will try that first).
