  • The fit on mine isn't great but not that bad! :(

  • The peak filter is such a load of rubbish its almost unbelievable. They've managed to take something which exists and make it far far worse, i mean it's not even functional.

  • someone on here said there was something wrong with the Perky crowd, dunno what though.

I've since moved to Wood St Coffee as my coffee of last resort.

  • Was @DoktorPepe but he wouldn’t say anything publically

  • Thirded! I'm also on the YB train!

  • Four months and nothing has changed. I am useless.

In other news, I have lots of Bialetti moka pots of different sizes (brand new still wrapped in tissue paper from the 70's on wards....also seals, handles and other gubbins. All monies to Pancreatic cancer research.

Also got two commercial gaggia two head machines, that haven't been used in 20 years and are from the mid 70's I think. Gifts that were too 'good' to be used...and rarely were.

Also I have been consuming 10 year out of date vacuum packed lavazza red. No sure if it taste right or not tho. But then it is only being consumed in a french press and moka pot.

  • Wood St is pretty good I think. There's also the place at the top of Francis road - curved brick or something.

For people in Leyton/Leytonstone/Forest Gate - Arch rivals have started stocking Hard Lines coffee. Which I'd recommend

  • Yeah, I've had some really really great coffee from Wood St

  • The responses to people's complaints on the kickstarter page are something else too.

People are complaining about fishy smells and chemical smells - any suggestion that this isn't okay is met with a kind of indignant "how very dare you!"

  • Hell yeah that’s nice. I’ve been searching for a machine for my tiny kitchen, this looks like it! How’re you finding it?

  • two commercial gaggia two head machines

Sounds interesting- you looking to shift them?

  • It’s great, I am no expert and am pretty sure that most people would wince at my ham fisted efforts, but even I can follow the instructions and pull consistently nice shots.

It also looks pretty cool in my cupboard and that’s all that matters really isn’t it.

Have a look at the below link, It’s pretty informative with a review of the PL62 and the X

    https://coffeeequipmentreviews.wordpress.com/

  • Today I had Bad Hand Coffee's Whipskid.

  • Where would be the best place to get the low profile stainless Gaggia Classic drip tray?

  • I just ordered a Kalita Wave as I tend to make coffee directly in to a mug these days and I find the v60 better for half litre brews.

  • The Comandante catch cup perfectly aligning with the Aeropress, is the type of inconsequential detail that pleases me greatly.

  • Nice! Feel similarly with the Porlex fitting snugly inside

Edit: To clarify, I mean inside the Aeropress

  • I find it pleasing that I can sit the Aeropress filter cap in the rim of a cup and pour water through the paper and heat the cup simultaneously.
(It’s obviously no coincidence that the cap is the size of a cup but still pleasing – this also only applies to inverted method)

  • Oh that's beautiful!

  • I almost wonder if Gaggia purposefully made the original profile so high that people would be tempted to spend £50 on one with a more useful profile...

A bunch of us on here are hoping to have one 3D printed, at a somewhat lower price.. (See upthread/3D print thread).

  • That one I linked to isn't actually made by Gaggia proper, Gaggia UK have manufactured it independently... It pisses all over a 3D printed one but I don't like the way the machine looks with one in, I'd wanna chop it to match the height of the new tray...
