I don't know.
Are you in a room with Thatcher and Saville and a load of others? -
• #26803
He’s on lfgss so it’s probably just the adjacent room.
@frankenbike can you hear “now then now then” through the walls?

It is OK, we haven't gone to hell! We just got left behind when the Brexiter rapture happened...they are all in the sunny uplit lands somewhere ;)
This is really tribalism at its worst: Only a minority of idiot hard Brexiters would really agree with this, but they aren't bothered to talk to the "brexiter in the middle".
Very reminiscent of Norn Ire's "green VS orange" politics and look what that brings us... and there at least, you can sort of understand it due to the past. But what hurt did the EU really cause people?
1: There are some pissed off fishermen (though it was the UKs idea to buy out boats), OK, that sucks, it hit you in the wallet
2: the fact you cannot evict criminals/terrorists if you they end in on a 0 rights country, OK, I agree with it but it is annoying
3: then some people didn't earn as much as others came in, OK, risk of being a sole trader, still annoying,
4: some people got made fake redundant and replaced with EU immigrants, OK, against UK law that nobody seems to enforce and winning that fight in a court is not perse easy/fast
5:some areas got more housing pressure as immigrants took jobs, OK, but the local council/UK central gov sat on their hands RE housingA lot of "we just close the gates and 3/4/5" will fix themselves, right? We have to see if it does... and 1, those fishing rights ain't coming back as the UK gov won't buy them back, 2, cha, "bring back hanging?"

No signs/sounds of Thatcher or Saville. But it feels distinctly like I'm being tortured for eternity.

More self-nosebiting stuff from our wonderful leaders. We don't want to be on any map that may suggest we're linked to Europe, even if its good for our tourist industry.

To be perfectly honest, given the 14 day quarantine, it's not like lots of people are planning to pop over to the UK for their summer holidays from over here anyway so the whole scheme is a bit redundant in terms of attracting people over to the UK.

It really is tribalism at its very worst...
"hey do you want a hand, it will help both of us"
No, screw you EU we don't want your help here!
[in the voice of French taunting of Monthy Python meaning of life]
"confused EU noises"
UK runs off leaving a mess in its wake...in the UK. -

given the 14 day quarantine,
This isn't going to last much longer as its bonkers.
Long term though its still so petty minded

"Boris doesn't like it being grey. He is getting it painted up," the source said.
Missed opportunity to use "tarted up"? ;)
Super use of money indeed ....

Planes need a strip and paint every 8 years ish and the RAF Voyager was introduced 9 years ago so it probably needed doing anyway.

Paging @hippy for tim tams announcement.

Yeah, for years we've been deprived of proper biscuits. For years we've had to listen to morons claim Penguins are just as good. Well, now thanks to giving up freedom of movement, really fucking useful trade deals and peace that the EU has brought us, now, we can finally all eat Tim Tams.
I mean, I totally think Brexit is worth it now.
(Seriously, fuck off Covid so I can move to Spain)

And in more peak Brexit news -
De La Rue will stop production at its Gateshead factory that has made the UK's passports for the past decade, with work on post-Brexit documents fully passed to Franco-Dutch company Gemalto from this month.
The 189-year-old company said it would also stop making banknotes at the factory, with 250-260 job losses expected as a result. It will retain about 100 staff that work in its authentication division and IT on the site.

Diane Dodds says Brexit is a problem for the NI economy...oh dear, maybe you and your party should not have supported it at every turn then?
There was a grim satisfaction in booting out Nigel Dodds up here...unfortunately you cannot eat "voters revenge".

That's fair enough then.
Is it common to use Big Fleg paintjobs?

De La Rue
Ah, sounds French as! Good riddance!

TX :)

That French motto on the front of uk passports doesn't sound very British either ;)
-
• #26823
Just let me be clear, we’re deprive of Tim Tams, which is the Australian version of Penguins.
-
• #26824
Ironically Mrs Bobbo says it's become much harder to buy TimTams since the lunatics took over the asylum and voted for brexit. You have to go to specialist shops these days; apparently not even ocado stocks them anymore.

I wonder where Aus gets its nice blue passports made?
Have I died and gone to hell?
