Other cities have been locked down for ages, and huge disruptive measures in place to protect Beijing (all flights diverted, even more massive police presence than normal) so for Beijing to be locked down is worrying. Friends there are just trying to carry on as normal if their housing compounds are open (so far only 27 locked down).
Spitting is "good for you" because having it inside you is bad, and why should they have to inconvenience themselves for other people? The mentality of this demographic is really quite appalling, even when I try to keep the reasons why in mind.

It seems logical that after Beijing, cities like Shanghai are likely to have similar lockdowns soon, doesn't it?
Culture of spitting is odd. Why would it be 'good for you', and even if it were, why can't they quickly go to the bathroom/toilet and spit there?
