Hah noticed that yesterday. It's like the heady days of Feb. But warm.

Seeing all the spraying of shoes that have been tried on and 72 hour quarantining of clothes that are being touted by shop owners on the news. Never going to happen for more than a few days.

The Onion: City Enters Phase 4 Of Pretending Coronavirus Over
Hehe.

Also surely the 2m needs extended if people are going to be huffing & puffing!

I thought everything was being based on the 'R' number or was last month?

I miss the pool too. This looks very idyllic advice, working on the basis everyone swims at the same pace and doesn't take a break at the wall. Once the h.u.b.s's get in the fast lane it'll all go to shit. Lifeguards will need to be more on it with enforcing lane etiquette.

We finally got the stickers from the council to put on the ground.

The gym I was in had sanitizer spray and blue roll everywhere.
I am not too worried about that tbh, and you can also bring in your own hand sanitizer. It feels to me like something I can control.

I can put up with that, but if it is going to be appointment only that will be a mega hassle as my partner sometimes gets stuck on these lovely conference calls where everyone must talk for too long...
But then I also want to support my gym as too many already lost their income, so worst case I just go alone or we do weekends only.

People never wiped down the machines after use in my gym before all of this, I wouldn't trust them to be doing it now.
Gym will be the last place I think of going.
I have bought some dumbbells, skipping rope and suspension training straps for the cost of a couple months membership. -

Mines a big corporate... That's known to fuck over its members...
Im annoyed because I paid for a year up front for a city gym. No way I'm recovering that back.
I tried to sign up for a power lifters gym in my area (I found one!)... They said they're still shut. Fuckity.

Mine suspended fees while they are shut, fair play. But I am not sure the cleaner I spoke to is OK, she was already struggling a bit hopefully she got hours elsewhere. I didn't get her details so couldn't help her as the gym shut right after.
I used to go to a powerlifting one, but it is out of the way and a bit of a dump...no showers and no functioning toilet <== So a proper gym hah.
So it doesn't suit atm as I managed to get my partner to go with me after a year of talking...this one is on the way home and a local business with lots of parking.

Never understood why people would expect everyone to do this without fail. When I do a spinning class I wipe down the machine before and after. Out of a class of 30 there's enough peer pressure that everyone seems to do it after the class but I get odd stares as to why I'm doing it before the class.

Once the h.u.b.s's get in the fast lane it'll all go to shit.
The usual tactic of swimming very close to them (or even partially over them) may not go down too well during the pandemicapocalypse.
The biggest problem at our pool is that we had 3 wide lanes split between people doing anything from h.u.b.s. to highly inefficient thrashing at 3:00/100m, to a large group of people sitting around the 1:55/100m to 1:40/100m mark and then the outliers the other end that would warm up seemingly effortlessly at 1:20/100m and then just get even faster.

Damn, that really sucks.
I was amazed when PureGym stopped taking their DD. The irony of not going to the gym has made me loose weight and I'm probably fitter (from a cardio perspective) than I have been for last 12 months....not sure I'll be going back. Just need a kettle bell and squat rack in the garage!

What is a h.u.b.s?

I've no idea, but I'm guessing it's Head Up Breaststroke Swimmers.

I assume the swimming equivalent of nodders
-
• #14420
Nodders has no equivalents esp. not with a swimming style that exists since the romantics.

every pool pretty much, sadly.

As far as I can, the biggest change in cycling infrastructure is basically a bit of paint and bollards.
Is that how they’re spending millions? On bollard?

Cheap steroid cuts deaths for several corona cases. Good news! :)
It seems to help most if you are already on a ventilator, which is already a bad situation to be in...

How long does the virus survive in swimming pool water?
Exactly - hence why gyms are saying they're going to limit the use of these, as in you'll have to book the squat rack or it won't be in use at all.
