on second thought, I just don't think they're for me.
the reason i can't find any I like is that I don't like them.

I have birkenstocks, and wear them, but looking for something different. ]]
the bedrocks look nice, but turned off by the between the toe thing. maybe that's irrational of me.

My partner just got a pair of Teva sandals - they're very comfortable.
Have a look at Decathlon

Birckenstock Bostons for day to day, unless weddings or funerals (the left are new and the right 2 years old) and Rapha sliders for the house (yes, they seem a little much but they really are super comfortable).

I will never forgive Apple for changing the default image file on an iPhone to .heic from .jpg.

Turned off by looks or thoughts of comfort? I usually get rub on straps on side of feet. No such issue with bedrocks. Walk in them; ride in them; jump on the sea in them.

I like my Quechuas from decathlon and they seem to be lasting really well, they are at least three years old now.

Bedrocks are very good, although a bit pricey
Quite like the look of those new KEEN sandals too

Not sure they fit any of OP's requirements but I really like my Teva's. Definitely wouldn't go running in them but they're comfy for hot days. Have the added advantage of being really easy to rinse off if you get sunstroke and spew all over your feet (or so I've heard....).

Have many miles in birckenstockcs, it is supremely comfortable - once you break them in.
I am weary of buying a new pair, just because I don't like to get blisters. -

Went from Birkenstock’s to Oofos a few years back - supremely comfortable.

Stylish enough to not look lazy. .. fit securely enough to run in.
These two factors are almost mutually exclusive.
Reef Convertible are probably the closest you can get as they're like less technical Tevas.
From photos of a friend's young teenagers, to be on trend this summer you need old school flip-flops with long white socks.

I have a pair of plain black Tevas and those ^ Nike slides... Works for me...
The slides are a pain to drive in tho', which is a shame...
Always with socks...

Salomon Break

They do half size too and can find for 30£ not 50£ as on the official site. I'm size 9 and have 9.5 (too big) and 8.5 (snug) -

My first pair of Birkenstock’s crippled me. Was going to Barcelona for a birthday weekend and had been given a pair. Spent a day walking around, getting increasingly uncomfortable. No blisters but the arch support strained tendons in my feet. The last mile back to the hotel I had to do barefoot. No blisters at all, just strained soft tissues. Ever since then I have never had any problems and it seems new pairs don’t even need to be broken in.

The EVA ones obviously don't need breaking in and are actually pretty long-lasting. They're also super light so great for #birkdangle .

I ordered a new pair mid February, thinking I would have just enough time to break them in before summer. That turned out a little bit different...
+1 for Briks

Birkenstock leather and rubber ones are both winners
This thread is destined live in the back pages, but thought I'd see what I get out of it anyway.
I needs new sandals for summer.
they need to hit right on target: Stylish enough to not look lazy, can get wet, durable, fit securely enough to run in.
any recommendations?
