  • Er. Different watches? 🤔

It is hard to tell as so many.

  • Yeah strap is the way.

It looks nicely done but sounds like a lot of money to me. Not sure when the £800 6R Prospex divers became £1100. Are they upgraded in some way I’ve missed? Ceramic bezel or something? Why do they cost three times as much as a Turtle?

  • I think Timefactors have a 36mm Willard-alike coming out soon.

  • I seem to get even that wrong... LOL

  • I only know it's Friday because my son is happy it's the last of school taught by me and tomorrow is our MTB Saturday together. Probably the first time wearing a watch in months. Apocalypse style Seiko is appropriate.

  • Yesterday was new watch day. I think this design might turn out to be the next (minor) Seiko cult classic.

The bracelet isn’t a total disaster, especially if you compare it to Seiko 5s from not that long ago, but it does let the show down because the watch head is done to a completely different standard. Great case, love the polished bezel (if anyone is considering one of these, worth noting that the versions that come on a bracelet have a polished bezel with a brushed bevel and the versions on nato straps have a brushed bezel with a polished bevel… ok?), and for me they got the proportions right.

    On a nice strap I think it’s a winner.

  • Yeah that's nice.

  • This is how it looks on the bracelet.

  • My vote is the bracelet. Looks great.

  • That looks really smart.

  • Bracelet all the way.

  • its amazing the difference the strap makes.
the bracelet makes it look more formal and bigger somehow.

    Both look good though

  • Straton day today.

  • New watch day, not to the usual calibre of this thread but hey. Couldn’t resist as I found a cheap one and I think they look great.

  • Ok, option C... nice strap (Barton) but I think I prefer the suede.

  • I just can't get past the weird squished hour hand

  • Oh why have you pointed that out. Can't unsee.

  • The bracelet looks really good but like it just doesn't quite match. My vote is for the rally strap.

Looks good though I think it would look much better with the crown at 3.

  • Haha, squished how? Think they've re-used the stubby sword shape hour hand from any number of their divers, and just changed the minute hand. Looks ok to me, and I much prefer this minute hand to the literal arrow on the Turtle / SKX / 5KX et al.

  • Date window @ 3 makes it look much smarter than a lot of other Seiko models.

    What suede strap is that?

  • Ah I see. The little point at the end of the hand is a Seiko thing, I don't know if it makes it easier to manufacture or what but a lot of their hands that are obviously cut/stamped from a flat sheet have that.

  • I kind of like how it's a Royal Oak / Nautilus mash up… and gold.
