Project Neck Rub continues to make slow progress. Another hour sanding yesterday. Another couple this morning and the Tru Oil arrived. One coat and I hated it. Thick, sticky, tacky, glossy. Nope. Rubbed as much as I could off. Left it drying for 6 hours hanging in a hot dry shed then sanded it off, wire wool clean and tried the Danish Oil instead. Much better. Thin, light, smells good. Grain popping and satin finish. Gonna keep applying and rubbing back for the next couple of days then re-attach and string up.
It's really easy to get too much Tru oil on, really needs very fine coats to dry nicely. Good luck with the Danish, if it feels good, it can't be bad...mmmh?
