MGOOF : Modern groupset on old frame

Hi all,

Love all your bikes and new to this thread.

I'm currently saving to buy a Merckx Corsa Extra but wanted to know if its possible to put a wireless system such as Di2/EPS/ETap onto the frame? I've had a google but I can't find any examples of people doing this to old frames.

You can always run the wires external with DI2 wire guides (aka tube covers)

Thanks for the offer, ATM I'm thinking of going with black as bars and most of groupset is black but it is a good looking stem so I'll have a think about whether silver would work. How much are you asking?

Keeping up the stem chat (!) Has anyone used/managed to get hold of a factory 5 titan? Expensive but I like the look of it. A 2nd hand one might do the job

2003 LiteSpeed Vortex which previously had Ultegra 6500 and has now been upgraded to 105 R7000.

I just need a new saddle and I’m done. I’ll sort some photos when it’s completed

I tried a Brooks Cambium C17 thing the other day and I’m converted - it’s the way forward for my poor, tired hoop. The days of riding a stripped Flite are long gone.

Just got this Velo Orange quill. I'm still not convinced of the looks, but I think it's better than the Factory 5 one, plus it opens up the door to so many handlebars. Wish it came in -17 degrees though.

Yeah I'm out off by the angle. Doesn't look right. Still a great option though, very much suited to a certain kind of build

I’ve used the factory 5 stem, the angle is just right and I think it looks great. It is definitely too expensive though! (Picture is a repost obvs)

I think I'll put the Dura Ace 9100 on from my De Rosa and then put 12speed Record on that.
