I think you just have to wait until the time comes to declare it officially lost. I've had outbound parcels to EU in the limbo between sending postal service export hub and receiving postal service import hub for well over a week before now and they have eventually arrived, but equally if they're going to be lost outright, that limbo seems to be the place where it happens.

Tx!
It's a Fairphone3, would be nice if they haven't lost as my old nexus 5 is really on its last powercycles... my nexus 6P died in a reboot loop first, this one is grimly holding on with a cracked screen and a nearly dead battery.

Why is it always a left shoe laying forlorn and abandoned in the middle of the road?
Because if it hadn't been left, it wouldn't be there.

surely the ones who need them the most!

two left feet two left feet
how can you dance with two left feet? -
• #102308
If they have two left feet, surely they would buy pairs of shoes and discard the right ones which are wrong for their feet, not the left ones which they want left in their shoe closets because they are right?

But what if they're clumsy and conscientious?

It could also be evidence of monopede shoe thieves operating in the area, I shall get # constablesavage on the case.

Can someone point me in the direction of the 'aquarium/fishkeeping' thread? Thanks

Has anyone got a copy of this to hand and can send me photos of the ladybower/derwent routes? I actually have a copy and had it in hand like 2 weeks ago and have now tidied it away so successfully that I cannot find it.

What steel tubing is this? Hard to exactly tell from pic but whilst it looks quite large diameter it's very much vertically elliptical/flat?
Cheers

My sources are saying a Mr Spiggott may be our suspect.

My WI M30 cranks make a clicking sound (I think it's coming from the area around the pedal axel on the NDS) when adding a bit more power. I've tried tightening the dustcaps and spacer on the driveside, also tried with two different sets of pedals.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Where can I get a couple of litres of used cooking oil? Are takeaways allowed to give it away?
-
• #102317
Thron?
Did some 853 frames have those OS downtubes too?
-
• #102318
I did a repair on a Graham Weigh with the same downtube which was apparently Reynolds 631
Reynolds have done custom drawn and shaped tubes for builders for a long time. Might not be a stock tubeset -

Are takeaways allowed to give it away?
Probably not, because you're not a licensed waste disposer. Also, why would they when there are companies who will pay the food shop for their old oil?
-
• #102320
Officially no,
they have to have a signed form from their Nominated Waste Disposal contractor.Unofficially, they will probably be only too glad to give you a couple of litres.
Just make sure you don't get the drum/can with the 'trap grease',
the oily crap from the 'u'-bend. -

If it is only a couple of litres, I would suggest buying a 5L of fresh oil from a supermarket.
£4 for 5 litres:
https://groceries.asda.com/product/oil/ktc-extended-life-vegetable-oil/910000322461You can still get some from takeaways, you just need to see what their weekly oil change day is - the grubby ones (chicken wing types, just not Morleys), will leave them at the back for the "oil recycling" company to pick up. You can pick up a 25 litre barrel of used oil.
Are you going to use to my your own biodiesel? You can run a non-HDI engine on 50% with no issues in the summer. Remember to filter it it well.

Did I read on here that fork-mounted cable hangers are the way to go with canti brakes? Is this Tektro one the thing I want or are there better ones?
Edit: it’s going on a very chunky alloy fork with a 1-1/4” threaded steerer. It looks like there is enough space to clear the lower headset race. I’d have to drill out the rear hole in the fork to suit the recessed nut fitting. And fingers crossed the bolt is long enough.
If I used a steerer-mounted one, it would have to go above the headset on my quill to a-head adapter which is 28.6mm. Original hanger was on the stem, but I’m not using that stem.

Less chatter on the lower mounts, yeah.

Cheers, edit/added some more detail which might chuck in some curveballs.
Woops!
It's been stuck on "on the plane" since last week, maybe the plane is on the way to Belfast, USA instead :p
