There's no reason why these couldn't be made to go outside the dropouts if necessary

Thanks. Unfortunately I think I may lack the fabrication skills.
(It's a 90s Dawes CX frame, 130mm spacing, 105 hubs)

105 hubs
Which 105? If it's one of the older generations with the M10×1 steel axles, the simplest way to get a grip on the dropouts might be just a solid axle and some track nuts. You can get the parts off the shelf https://www.velosolo.co.uk/shophub.html

These or some generic version can be made to work by filing off the lug, but the two screws tend to splay on the back of the dropout. If you have some fabrication skills then you can drill and tap a central hole for a single screw to sit much more neatly. However, unless you really don't value your time, then I'd just say fuck it and buy a Surly Hurdy Gurdy, which is properly designed for the job, does it brilliantly and includes an adaptor for putting a QR, rather than the axle, through it.

Anybody tried the Rivet saddles? Some good reviews out there.
They're leather, just so you know... -

Thanks.
My experience has been weird. I'm buying the parts for a bike I'm putting together, and the frame and fork have post mount disc tabs. Current Ultegra Di2 disc shifters only come with flat mount brakes and no-one seems to sell the levers alone. Deporvillage did, so I ordered them, along with a pair of post mount brake calipers, and they took payment and sent me a tracking email. Then I got a total refund, checked the order and it had been cancelled, but have still had no cancellation email.

So if anyone knows where I can get the R8070 Di2 disc levers alone, I'd appreciate it.

Why is it always a left shoe laying forlorn and abandoned in the middle of the road? 3 in 8 miles this evening.
-
• #102290
I think my google-fu must've been weak, as just after posting that ^^^, I did a search and found them at Wiggle/Chainreaction, plus other places.
But thanks, Ludwig.

Apologies the contract with Kent County Council Highways Dept. specifies
'One left shoe per 2 miles of carriageway'.
C-19 has played havoc with the shift patterns.
If you can let the call centre know where you noticed the missing shoe
we'll do our best to dump one over the weekend. -

I’d assume they were all being dropped by poor dancers.

Anyone know what the chainline measurements are for either side of the middle/outer spider on a hollowtech 2 mtb crankset are?
-
• #102294
Might this help?
https://productinfo.shimano.com/#/spec/MTB/Crankset -
• #102295
Hmmm, only gives 1 chainline for any crankset, single double or triple.
Might be actual chainline for 1x, middle of the spider for 2 x and middle ring for 3x?

Might be actual chain;line for 1x, middle of the spider for 2 x and middle ring for 3x?
Yes, that's generally the number Shimano specify.

Does anyone know what the rough ETA is for parcels from the Netherlands via parcel force?
The royal mail tracking system has given up, and parcel force said it's been on a plane from NL since last Friday.
But it wouldn't surprise me if their tracking system is bust too. Just wondering if it's weeks or months.
Royal mail is 5ish days ATM for GB to NI post. 9/10 tracking numbers never change status.

Vaguely recall it taking just over a week, but that was partly because the parcel got sent from my local depot to one on the other side of the country....

which courier company would you recomened for shipping a bike wrapped and packed in a cardboard box.

I once used Hermes they damaged it, though didn't quibble on the refund. Not a very good courier in general, bit hit and miss from careful delivery to "toss it over the fence" quality.
I had a bike from eBay via Parcelforce, which arrived in one piece.
DPD seems to be a very good courier, always on time and careful when I get any small items from them, but they may be quite £££
You can use sites like parcelmonkey to try to keep costs down.
Can someone recommend some chain tugs for long forward facing horizontal dropouts like these:
Cheers.
