Hard to go wrong with an Xbox controller.

Xbox one controller. Works out of the box via USB (but can be fussy about cables) or wirelessly with a dongle.

Xbox controller 3rd-ed.
It is actual plug and play. Which is not a feat Microsoft are usually very good at.

hmmm... the times ive tried an xbox controller I havent found it the easiest to get on with. It was literally only minutes of gameplay though so didnt get chance to get used to it. there appears to be nuff love for it though so I will give it a go.

haha holy shit I forgot all about the felony and damage bars. As a child, I used to think felony was pronounced like baloney, but with an F.

Ammusingly, PS4 controllers are also plug and play on Windows now, and will work via bluetooth once you've done the initial pairing via USB

hold on, its not?!
-
• #22439
Newer Xbox One controllers have Bluetooth, so can be used without a dongle (which is very helpful).

you know. I didnt even consider whether I could use the PS4 controller. I think ill try that first

Have just downloaded Disco Elysium, looks great. Anyone here played?
Not yet, but I intend to! One of my mates started it a few days ago and says "the writing in it is pretty fucking good". He is the world's most difficult-to-please man so this is an impressive endorsement.

Got the original on the Vita, very few games have nailed fun driving mechanics as well as Driver!

Used to be the case that they required 3rd party software, but I just tried mine on the laptop and paired it with BT straight away.

Anyone purchased Observation? Opinions?
-
• #22447
Nope, but that looks pretty cool. At first I thought you meant Observer, which is also worth checking out.

I read this really neat piece this morning about one of the off-shoots of SimCity, an arm of the business which tried to produce simulation games for business use. Worth it if you have the time:

Apparently not, much to the amusement of a family friends older child :(

Well after finishing Alien Isolation I tried Skyrim again (heavily modded) and just couldn't get into it. Went back to GTAV and having a blast again.
Fired up the original Mafia last night, some audio issues but otherwise great to play. Managed to finish the racing mission on my first attempt too, I can't remember how many times that took me as a kid. Also it looks like they added a difficulty option at the start of the mission, not surprising really!
