The fence along the top of our wall has been in a bad way for a while. Finally took the time to replace it - rather pleased, if aching and a bit pink.

Brick acid is hydrocloric acid so getting it to stay on the brikck might be an issue.
Can you clean it by scraping or has the surface burnt?

Our house used to have the two bins one either side of the door like shit stone lions.
It's not a nice thing to come home to. Plus ours are old, cracked and sun-damaged.
Our bin store is neat and has recently received the seal of of approval from the local anarchists:

No gods, no masters, no ugly bins on show.

Yeah, I was just joking. Ours are down an alley, but if they weren't I'd probably have something similar.
Obviously didn't expect Chris to get so upset about be using the B-word in vain.

Top work that fence! Hard graft, no doubt

• #21787
Did the fence come as a kit or did you select the timber yourself? It looks really well done.

Ha, I wasn’t upset, just disappointed.

That looks cracking. I wanted that style of fencing but it was vetoed.

That looks great, well done.

Aaaaannnnnd done. Painted dark to match the cladding at the rear and to make it “fall back” into the bush. Painting was prob the hardest and least fun part.

This is all that matters to me. I've already worked out cost to make again...
I usually drink G n T while sitting on that bench, sometimes eat food, often chat to people across the wall, I'm overlooking a river*/countryisde so its quite a pleasant spot and it gets all the sun. Tempted to get a nicer bench.
I'm too cack handed to perspective correct pics, I'll take them again properly for insta.
@Howard cheers! Most the batons were done by eye so IRL you can see its far from perfect but it'll do.
*not as nice as it sounds - fenced off and concrete lined

How long has that bench been there? Supprised its not been stolen yet...

Looks good.
Are you going to take the bins out on bin collection days or hope the rubbish collectors do?
When I've accidentally left them in, I've found that the normal bins do get taken, but the recycling crew won't open them up. Which is totally fair, it's a faff involving taking off the little chains that lift the lid and opening a difficult bolt.
Thanks, that was actually a late addition, had to do a ninja reupload.
