Anyone have experience with this kind of steerer extender?

  • FYI, I recently ordered some wheels and asked if they could still do the EMS 1 dollar deal, as I'd originally been in touch with them during april. Might be worth asking them if you do make an order as they were very easy with me doing so

  • I got an email today from Light Bicycle saying that EMS is fubar and they can't post anything out for a while and did I mind waiting or I could pay more for Fedex

  • Rims finally arrived today after UPS ran out of slots yesterday...

I'm just measuring the ERD and it's coming up bigger than the stated ERD as below. I'm including the full length of the nipple (14mm), using the measurement from nipple end to shoulder gives (11mm), which is 1mm off the stated ERD. Which length should I use when ordering spokes? I have someone who can cut me exact lengths if required.

  • Anyone tried the ZTTO cassettes? Their funny coloured lightweight ones seem decent value; about the same weight as DA but half the price.

  • Only tried the cheap versions, seemed on par with similar stuff from other brands (potentially the same stuff, just labelled differently, as usual).

  • Has anyone got the 25x25mm carbon clinchers with the graphene brake tracks from light bicycle? Thinking of placing an order - is anyone else interested in splitting the shipping etc?

  • AR56/ar46 built up. Feel lovely.

  • i have them. 40mm deep, 20h24h. for sale potentially

  • whaoh. this is now very posh !

  • Thanks, happy with it! Heavier than it was with the c zero wheels but rides really nicely even up steep stuff. I'd forgotten how much fun deep wheels are.

  • What tyres are you planning on using with those?

  • I've got some 32c 5000's TLR, although I would prefer the new Bontrager R3 hard-case lite TLR..

LB have done a measuring article and 28c 5000's come up 3mm wider, so I assume the 32's will be similar: https://www.lightbicycle.com/newsletter/Road-Bike-Tire-Width-Charts.html

  • im sure these are excellent, the AR seems to be far lighter than regulars.. hope hubs ??

  • Yeah, couldn't stretch to matte pink Chris king so purple hope had to do!

All sorted now, just trying to work out what tyres to go with.

Basically, gp5000 tl or latex tubes and 28/28 28/25 or 25/25.

Gp4000 25c look like this on the rear - you can just about see the rim slightly proud of the tyre - , so I think (may be wrong) that a gp5000 25c may be too narrow.

  • Tyre fractionally narrower than the outside width of the rim seems to be the most likely to give low drag and good aerodynamic stability, and its perfectly fine in terms of ride and handling.

  • Is 28 gp5000 on this a good bet then? Assuming it measures very slightly larger than a 25 gp4000 according to other places. It's an AR56 rim so 23mm internal, 30mm external. Front is ar46 so 21/28.

At the moment I'm thinking 28 front and back as the roads are shit round here.

  • Is 28 gp5000 on this a good bet then?

Yes, it's well within the range of usable tyres on either end.

  • Any leads for forum-approved Fauxkleys/Poc-Offs? Had a look Through most of the recent links and they seem to be dead. Thanks!

  • Use the AliExpress app. Seems to be more liberal with the use of brand names in the search than on the web. Ask them for photos of the actual product and find some you’re happy with

  • What's the current best choice for layback carbon seatposts? Hylix from ebay? Anyone have a recommended seller?

  • I have had a few hylix from Liukang1985 with no issues and answered all my questions.

  • Has there ever been any Hylix horror stories? Looking at the 27.5/29 MTB fork.

  • Order those [https://de.aliexpress.com/item/4000086565712.html a couple weeks ago, came 4 days earlier as expected. quality is fine, plastic looks and feels a bit cheaper then the original, but the polarized lens is actually polarized. came with everything as pictured, really happy so far
