On brushed motors it is the physical number of wire turns. The fewer the turns, the lower the resistance, so the faster the motor. You also used to get double and triple windings, where the the wire was doubled or tripled up to get more current through it and increase the torque.

TBLE02 ESC.
23t brushed. The super stock or GT tuned would be fair bets. The Avante 2011 bundled motor is a rebadged GT and it’s pretty punchy
10.5t brushless with a fan

Any recommended places to get Tamiya paints? Found a few places online where a 10ml is about £1.85 which looks good. Just wondering if there's anywhere lower than that?

Haven't done any price shopping on Tamiya paint - just getting it at the moment is a bit of a battle.

According to the chart my C9 is using a 5.5t (7700kv) brushless on 2s.

Which paint? PS sprays for a Lexan clear body are hard to get. I usually get them from euro car parts.

I bought my Tamiya acrylics from scale model shop or wonderland models in the UK, seemed the best price / range to get what I needed

I was going for something along these lines.

Moderate success is moderate. Pink went too drab, should have put down a layer of candy red first.

Great thread . 1/10 electric rc racing was my thing in the late 80’s . Ran an original kyosho optima indoors with reasonable success . Gave it away to a mates kid years ago :( . Still got an old mardave meteor and a mini stock somewhere . First real passion of mine and went crazy for rc racing . Walked past the crystal place track a few months ago . Tempted to get another car , but would want to race it , and not sure missus would find that too exiting . Great work guys..

What was the Mardave Meteor like? I don't think I ever saw one in real life.
I once saw a Stockmaster up at Crystal Palace. All I really remember was it was big and stocky looking, it was really noisy because it just had a straight pipe, it was filthy because the engines they had were quite dated and it looked like it chucked oil out everywhere. I don't remember ever seeing a Marauder either.

Meteor was a very cheap and cheerful 2wd 1/10 electric . Mardave were a UK outfit I think commonly known for bigger petrol stock cars. My best mate got a meteor as the first rc car of all of us , so became a common car amongst my mates . Super quick but would not go around corners . The CAT XL was the one to have . I raced indorse it’s no jumps , so anything 4wd would work, came down more to driving..
T-numbers in motors, what do they mean?
I'm casually looking at brushless and I realise it's a mine field.
I've seen all sorts of numbers 10.5t, 12.5t 15.5t.
I understand it means turns, but I don't know what that means, or whether smaller or larger numbers is better.
(For a 2wd, off road buggy that gets road use too)
Would be replacing a brushed 540 Torque Tuned (25t I think)
Would be used with NiMH batteries (LiPo is a future step) and TBLE02 ESC.
Purely hypothetical at this stage as I might buy a fancylad model at some point to make my "quick" model.
