Is this an insane bargain?
https://www.alchemycycletrader.com.au/product/tommasini-tecno-duraace-58-5/
New frameset alone seems to be Eur 2750, while this whole bike is less than £1k? What am I missing?

while this whole bike is less than £1k?
Isn't $1.995 equal to around £1.600?
-

Aussie dollars. Aud to gbp is 1.9.
-
• #2181
I assume if there is frame damage they would have put the information in the ad. I've emailed them about shipping to the UK.
-
• #2182
I see. Well, I think €2.750 for a new frameset is far too much, so in that sense I wouldn't call this a great deal. Just a normal deal maybe.

RE: Tomassini. Keep the headset. The rest can go on classifieds and make way for good components.
-
• #2184
I'm not spending any more money on this bike. It was rather expensive.

Tough crowd. Tommasini Tecno frames get rave reviews.
-
• #2186
It's a nice frame but Ultegra is for peasants
-
• #2187
Ha! I've had Ultegra on 3 bikes and I think it is the best performance to value groupset. Having said that, I would put Dura Ace on everything if money was no object.
-
• #2188
Not sure where the 2750eur cost came from, they were about 1000eur less than that a year ago (assuming you're buying direct from them).
-
• #2189
Ah - ok. I think I was looking at current USD prices.

how small is small dude? My 54cm Concorde with mix of modern ultegra / 105 is in the departure lounge
-
• #2191
been told around 50 c-c on the seat tube, guess the top tube could go up to 54 if she went for a short stem :). But yeah sounds like it might be a bit big

Tip for those looking for 1" threaded headsets not wanting to pay CK prices:
It needs a proprietary tool but these are easy to source on eBay.
-
• #2195
They also have a really good selection of bars/stems. This is a particular favourite of mine.

Nice quill
-
• #2198
amazing, thanks for the link, I like those bars, may try and get some.
A couple of years back PlanetX were selling those stems off for a tenner. I got one, but need a longer one now and am gutted I didn't buy them all. Good to find them on there though.

I like the Tange ones, still easy to source and I think they look nicer.
Maybe not as well sealed? Not sure. -

This bike is awesome. Surprised me when I took a closer look that de Rosa used Reynolds. I always thought all Italian builders used Columbus.
