  • Mmm. There’s a few different versions, the stainless / cream is nicer than the gold/cream.

May or may not be a render :)

Prefer it I think with the non-matching date window background for some reason.

  • I’m not sure I like the icing around the bezel

  • Agree, that's much nicer, and the window background doesn't clash on that one, just helps elevate it a bit.

  • The real photo looks alright, for a Navitimer. But im bit of a magpie.

  • Boss' boss has a 47mm Navtimer. Lovely watch but it is a satellite dish. If you wanted a smaller Breitling I think there are far better choices.

  • I don’t really want a Breitling because ... but I like the NT aesthetic but it’s gotta be in the right size.

I like some of the chronos and the premier stuff but they tend to be in the £5k territory and I don’t like them £5k much :)

  • Thanks @Regal & @D-Dog

I like the look of them in photos, especially the Green & Maroon textured dials. Familiar eough to an SKX but with some differences (Plus points - 4R36 movement that is hackable and hand winding, countless options of colours - Minor negative - only 100m water resistance although I'm not diving so doesn't really matter).
They are currently on sale for around $315cad + tax locally so might investigate.

  • Nice squale .

I’m a big fan ... decent watch , case ,movement .. decent price

Me too once I learn about them, was gonna get the 1545 Ferrovia Ceramic until someone offer a 1521 at a very decent price.

Wanted to get this but not only expensive but a very limited edition sadly (30 atmos).

  • Got one, here’s side by side with SKX007, it’s slightly more bling than functional, but then again, it make sense as the SKX have been modded a lots in the last decades.

Didn’t really got into it for this reason (bling), hence getting a Squale 1521.

  • I think that may be the older version. Since discontinuing the SKX the new Seiko 5 takes some of the details from the SKX and adds new details such as display caseback.

  • Oh yeah, there’s so many option in the 5 series, those one definitely much nicer and much more suited as a daily watches than the SKX.

The 5 logos is a bit naff thought.

  • Can't be doing that pearl necklace on the bezel. Even if it is gris.

  • I think we did Navitimers before, right?

  • Thats what I think of when I hear mention of Navitimers and I love the look of them and how busy the dials are.
Those new, chronometer versions do nothing for me.

  • Hello guys,
do you think buying a 2001 VHP Longines can be a mistake ? Is the Quartz movement serviceable or electronic parts are prone to fail etc ? Reference L1.639.5.76.6.

I already wear a Longines Flagship heritage automatic that I love, but I would like to have a more "sturdy" watch as a daily no-brainer.

  • If you like the watch, And want it as a daily, there is no issue with having a 2001 quartz. There are countless ones from the 70s so in theory should last a lifetime.

And the newer ones will probably last even longer esp from reputable brands.

The only thing will be changing the battery once in a while.

Laod of us have working quartz watches from every decade since they were introduced.

*Please dont tell the mechanical watch fanboois though... (I am one of them)

And to this, if you really love the watch, if you figure out the movement, you can probably find a donor watch, and swap non-working for working, to further extend the life of your beloved quartz.

  • If anyone wants a cheap solar digital G-shock, then Amazon currently have the GW-B5600 for less than half price, have wanted this one for quite a while...

  • good price!!

The black/red one is one of my favourites.

  • Yeah, I really like the blue and also the all black. But £50 for solar, radio controlled and bluetooth., thats a lot of watch for the money!

  • It also has a Geo Pin function! I think that is cool... Not sure what id use it for, but still cool.

  • Quite like the idea of the bluetooth phone finder, perfect for when I know the phone is somewhere in the house, but not sure where...

  • This is a very useful feature on the various Garmin watches and fitness trackers.

  • Cheapest I can see is £92 ? Gahh
