Slightly more complex than the above...
My partner got a new Windows 10 laptop 6 mths ago, has forgotten the outlook password she created for the microsoft store & now realises her verification phone number is a digit wrong which explains why she isn't getting the password reset codes.
I'm trying to help but have run into a dead end.
All Microsoft avenues to reset this scenario get her to a form which asks for older password history (there are none) and if she ever used Skype or Xbox or bought a ms product using her account (no) so this triggers an auto email response once submitted asking her to fill in the same form but with more information for them. She doesn't have any more information.
My only other idea is to phone the wrong number in the hope 1) it is valid and 2) willing to help by relaying codes on to us.
Any other ideas?
