I was measuring on the hoods but all the Ergonovas are 42cm in the drops!

Is this what I've been doing wrong?

Deda Speciale are 40cm in the hoods too. Also I forgot I have a pair of spatr bars which claim to be 42cm and they are 42cm hoods and drops too...

As an example FSA compacts will be measured at the drops but since they have a bit of flare are 2cm less on the hoods. So a 42cm FSA will put your hands on the same position than, say, 40cm Nitto bars.

In the end I called good old helpful Hubjub on the phone before ordering, who confirmed that the C-2-C width for the Nitto M109AA's is measured at the drops. So I've ordered some 42cm from them.
