There's a 9yr minimum before you can post sale adds.
Be patient.

Hello Hugo, when did this time limit rule begin ? In the past 8 years I have bought from Wim, sold to the Doctor and several others that I can't recollect. Regards.

The footbridge and immediate background is pretty similar to this over the Wandle at Phipps Bridge:
.
But there is definitely no overpass above it.Edit: it's a Bailey Bridge: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bailey_bridge

Having looked at a few google map street view snaps, I think it's almost impossible to have that kind of skyline pop up as big as that one right behind some woodland / canal area. I think there's simply no cluster of buildings as tall as that where such a view is possible, so you're probably right, it's a composite. Which means none of the scene has to be real. @chez_jay has pointed out a pretty good match for the style of the footbridge, the overpass is a bit generic in this picture and therefore more difficult to identify...

You can rotate the screen if you're ok with the whole desktop rotating.
Ctrl+Alt+ left or right arrow key (up to return to normal).
This is video driver specific. Might be Intel only?

Hugo 🤗 when I try to post photos the first has a cross on it ! When I post a 2nd the first dissapears and so forth. Will the format only retain one at a time ? Thanks
-
• #102035
Thanks everybody.
Figured it must have been make believe (and on the off chance it wasn't, I would have loved to investigate).
-

Will the format only retain one at a time ?
Yes. You need to select multiple photos all at the same time. Unless you're sourcing them from your Google Photos on an android device, in which case you can only select one photo at a time anyway.

Thanks, will have another look.

Just realised it doesn't work on my current machine, not sure what changed. We used to have all types of fun switching someone's screen upside down and then using a snapshot of their original desktop as the background.

I have a stem where the interior bit for a pinch bolt is stripped. If I retap it does it matter whether it’s metric or imperial? Currently M7.
-
• #102040
That sounds risky. A stem is something I'd be really reluctant to remove any material from. Which bolt is it (steerer or handlebar) and how is it oriented (is it between the steerer and bar)?

I've got a Bosch toaster with settings 1, 1-2, 2 etc up to 4 with a defrost button. Frozen bread on the normal setting and defrost button pretty much replicates the effect of fresh bread-toast.

It’s the top bolt position (face plate) in an adjustable Zoom stem.

How stripped is it? In that instance I'd be tempted to run a tap of the existing size right to the bottom of the hole to clean it up and use the longest bolt possible to grab all the thread. Make sure that it's not bottoming out before being able to put pressure on the face plate) . I'd be very careful not to make the hole any deeper though as stems can fail when a pinch bolt goes into the main beam of the stem. If you go for larger metric bolt you'd be removing metal from that area and how would you fit the bolt head in the face plate? If you go for an imperial thread you may end up just mashing the existing metric thread (because the pitches might also be different) and not getting a decent thread for the bolt to get purchase on.

Sort of did that, except used a bolt that I have which is longer than the original as the tap. Generous doses of Phils and a little of the old in and out did the trick.
Thanks! -

On my MTB I converted to single speed a while back, and then have recently (tried) to return to gears after actually trying to ride up my local hills. Before the gears worked fine - I'm lazy and don't have a bike stand, so I think I only had 9 of the 10 gears, but otherwise it was fine.
On trying to reinstall all the bits and pieces, I've encountered an issue. The cable got jammed in the shifter (I think I might have slipped it in having not clicked through to the end). After a bit of disassembly and a scary amount of swearing I got the cable out, however now the cable to the derailleur gets impossibly tight about halfway through the cassette and nothing I can do (in terms of adjusting various screws and limited on the transmission) seems to have any effect.
I assume something is wrong with my shifter... but what? Has anyone had an issue like this before?
-
• #102046
Is it a new cable? If it's an old worn one then a frayed inner could be getting caught. Also have you checked that the derailleur isn't getting too close to the cassette?
-
• #102047
Yeah, new inner and outer. I've tried it with and without a derailleur extender, doesn't seem to get close to the cassette in either setting. I have a feeling that the shifter has somehow pushed its indexing several stops forward, but I'm not sure if that's possible/makes sense...
-
• #102048
Is it a standard rapidfire shifter with the indicator window? Is it telling you that it's halfway through its range when it gets stuck?
-
• #102049
Hmm, hadn't thought about that. Yeah standard deore shifter. Starts at the bottom as normal. Going to bring it in now that I'm done pretending to work and see if I can either fix it or break it enough that I simply have to get a new one.
-
• #102050
If the cable was put in when the shifter was in a middle position (rather than at the smallest-cog position) then it might be hitting a stop somehow. Seems unlikely and the indicator window should tell you if that's happening.
Hello, i have been a member for 8 years made several purchases and sales. However I can't find a way to make a sale advert can someone please advise ! Thank you.
