I did 100km on a tt bike on Thursday and would take a road bike if I did it again. I was being overtaken by bunches doing similar W/kg to me on the flat. Normally you have to be lucky to find a group going at a similar pace, but at the moment, it’s easy.

You clock up a bit more XP on a TT bike, if that’s of any concern to you?

I'll probably lap volcano as it's easy to find groups... drafting it is then.

100 km on the volcano circuit on a TT bike will get you
Hot head
Warmed up
Lava
100 k badge
And loads of xp -

I think it might need to be a bit longer than 100km, to make sure the requisite number of laps are hit?

I did 100k last weekend doing the volcano laps. Used a tt bike. I enjoyed it for the most part. Didn't realize you couldn't draft. Was wondering what was going on during a workout earlier this week when I kept trying to get on wheels.

It's 104 with the lead in, I think. Not much in it.

Was something like 43km for 10 laps yesterday

I did 200k this morning. It suck arse but was doable. Easiest thing would be to find an event and then sit in. You'll probably do 40kph off 150W because of Zwift physucks.

There's a 100km "race" at 7am which was when I was planning on getting started so may just find a comfortable group and sit in.

MTB is with the at-risk in-laws so won't be riding it any time soon. Plus the riding down there is a muddy mess and losing the rear wheel sideways shits me right up. I really don't enjoy it. I only ever played along cos Rosie likes it so much.
Sounds like you need better tyres, I have some spares - including one that is (I shit you not) 20% of the entire weight of one of my road bikes, so you'd get a pronounced training effect from it, also.

What about during the week or is it weekends only for you guys?

I found another 'audax' starting at 4pm today. I think I might try and crank out another 100k (fuck 200km!) so I should pass the 2000k mark in TGBR before the race ends this week.

Why cant we join grupetto one? Racism?

Did my 100 today and could have done more. The race was a bad idea and I wasnt that sad when zwift crashed after 12k and I went back to volcano. Should have realised that the whole thing would be more a shitload of sand baggers rather than people out for a steady ride.
200 next weekend I guess.

Race-ism.
You're just too slow.

My mate did over 100k today too.
"You’ve inspired me with saddle time"
Dude, I'm an idiot, don't copy me. Hahaha

Minimum 3.5w/kg.
Didn’t we already go over this a month ago?
-

(I hope everyone knows I’m joking).
Anyway, group rides are great fun so we should totally do a LFGSS one.

TBH, it was a bit dull but netflix has lots of shit films that I've not seen and don't want to waste time on... as I'm a captive audience, I'm watching pure trash with as little merit as possible.

If you want a challenge do the Uber Pretzel. Shorter than a 200k but probably. tougher. Did it last week, topped it up to a century after the Alpe. It’s a bit ouchy but good fun.

Rim brakes only
Given we've apparently hit monsoon season here, it's back to the turbo. A mate bet me some beers that I can't do 100km on Zwift (his assertion is it's too boring and he has a point) so I'm going to give it a go. Would it be quicker on a road frame in it or the TT frame given the former allows drafting but the latter doesn't.
