  • Don't have any IPA left so into the stouts. 9% nitro coffee.

  • Deya x Northern Monk patrons Project 13.5. Have a look at my untapped.

  • Ooh yes. I just sent my old man pics of this nitro stout saying 'fuck your nitro Guinness' haha

  • Snap.
    I like that one.

Started me off, now I'm o. The Barel Aged Clown King from BD. (US Barley Wine)
It smells awful, but tastes ok. Wouldn't bother again.

Next up is a rather large whisky

  • Picked one of those up in Tesco. Good?

  • Yeah, I love the nitro effect and it's a nice stout instead of the usual shit you get through them so definitely a winner for me.

  • Had this yesterday and wasn't that impressed - like lots of pastry stouts the first couple of mouthfuls are tasty, but it gets a bit sickly as you go down the glass and it warms up.

  • I thought the bitterness of the coffee made it more like a 'proper' stout compared to those dessert stouts I guess you're talking about. I do love iced coffee though so perhaps this is more of a beer for me. Also, maybe I drink a lot faster :)

  • Seems I didn't check it in to untappd so I can't even see how long it took before I moved onto the vodka and Sadako

  • Maybe I just needed to have chilled it more - I thought it was more balanced at first. And not all of us have your ability to neck 440 ml of 9% ;)

  • Quite fancy giving that JBH nitro a go.

    Do, it’s delicious.

  • I fancy a change from all of the craft IPAs that are ubiquitous so I am poking around at various Belgian beer websites. Does anyone have a referrer code for one that I can use? Happy to take a recommendation for a site to get you free beer.

  • Don't have a reference code but can recommend etre gourmet or belgiuminabox

  • Change of pace from BrewDog offerings with a Lidl find mocha stout.

    It's not bad for £1.60

  • Thank you! Belgium in box is headed my way with a variety of matching glasses. Thank you!

  • Great stuff, I too am awaiting a tasty Belgium in a Box delivery

  • I visited today and grabbed some funky shizzle.
Mariuz did remember you when I mentioned your beer selection.

  • Are they still doing the mad OCD packaging?

  • Mariuz knows shit loads about beer. Great to converse with
I was there again today. Too early tho

  • Yeah had a bit of a chat. He said he isn't normally open today but had VAT stuff to do.
Dangerous now I know where it is!
Gonna crack a berliner weiss from there for the missus now and a 9% coffee barley wine for myself.

  • 9% coffee barley wine for myself

Was that the Estonian beer? totally bonkers strong stouts etc

  • Salt Brewery IKAT (no relation to the Saltaire Brewery glass even though they are in the same town).

Fruity, tropical and not tasting like a 8% DIPA. Now available in Tesco.

  • Nah, I didn't get any bottles from him, just cans this time as I was already loaded up. It was a BA Full Frontaal from Weird Beard followed by a Sadako. I wanted to let the PoH's cans settle a bit. The fruit berliner weiss was real good.

  • 8% DIPA. Now available in Tesco.

Well, at least now I know how I catch Covid-19.
