Turbo Trainer Advice

Instant patches or proper glue? My proper glue ones were usually fine.

Hi guys

Looking to link up my dumb Trainer to Zwift or RGT (probably the latter because premium is free for duration of c-virus).

I have a power meter but it’s not Bluetooth, ant only. Does anyone know / have any experience with the product in the link below, and if something like this would make my dumbo trainer work with Zwift/RGT?

It works fine for me.

I did think of that but ideally was going to use my iPad and not my work laptop (I don’t own any other laptop). Pretty sure my company has blocked all software downloads unless they are sanctioned by the company :p

Proper Rema Tip Top patches and glue. Two in a week now. "Wow I'm really getting on top of this effort... doh!"

Are they freshly glued? Maybe the higher heat is moving the patch before it's done its bonding job fully?

It should work, but I’ve no direct experience with it. I was looking into it myself, but Am sticking with ant+ key for now.

As per @TTM, I ordered one direct from NPE at the beginning of the month. Shipping says it’s made it as far as Chicago right now, so can’t comment on whether it’s any good yet but I would suggest that if you want it in a hurry order it from somewhere else!

Dunno, but perhaps you could look for a repair video and see if something is loose around the roller thingiebob?

Looking at this video, at 15s, it appears there's an allen bolt clamping the 'tyre roller' down. Maybe it has backed off and that's why the tube doesn't rotate along with the res unit.

I have this, good and cheap-ish, but to be honest one isn't enough.
Two might do, but I don't see the hype about this fan.
Also, it/they won't be really effective if you plan to mount it/them further than 1m from you.

Yes we use them for work - they're perfectly fine and retransmit the signal as if it were a Bluetooth PM so would work with your iPad. Probably wouldn't work with an ANT+ FEC turbo to control it via Bluetooth though

hmm the distance I am looking to install it away from is less than 1m .. I'd have got the Wahoo headwind but I want to save floor space, I can get two of those honeywell ones tbh

Give it a go then, they only angle 90deg from the base, so you might have to fiddle a bit to get them set up as you want.

Sainsburys have big floor air circulators in store £40 odd quid.

Yeah, this is the dog's. I have this and a big classic silver floor fan, but the Vacmaster is much better.
