My apps refuse to acknowledge that I even have an XBox one let alone manage the games on it. I've given up.
Actually, likewise with my headset which I can't get to work

Finished uncharted 4 last night, surprisingly been fairly close to the end for a while just never picked it back up.
Moving onto Control, always liked the ideas of remedy games (Alan wake and quantum break) but have never really played any as they’ve been Xbox only.
Looking forward to seeing if it lives upto the reviews/awards. Also female protagonist is always interesting..

I've liked/enjoyed playing all the uncharted games, this one being the last one, there's alot more time in the game taken up with backstory and character development (flashbacks), which means it can be a bit slow at times, and takes you out of the run and gun, climb gameplay, but it's alot of fun, with some great set pieces, and no fantasy monster ending..
I'd recommend the uncharted games to anyone. -

Anyone tried Green Hell? Seems suitably absurd.

The co-op mode makes me want to try it

Just saw Alien Isolation is currently £1.50 on Steam.

I much preferred the earlier Uncharted games because they were less shooty. It doesn't have the mechanics to be a proper shooting game and is got annoying when wants you to clear an area of increasing waves of enemies.

I think you need to set up your Xbox to remote access in the app and on the box. I dont think it can switch it on, but Google Assistant can, so between the two you can remote in a queue up games.
Still playing with it myself -

I understand where you're coming from, the waves of enemies in an area with bigger and bigger guns can get frustrating at times, think I've mentioned it upthread. But I don't play FPS' so don't know whether it's shooting mechanics are "proper" or not.
Yeah they've dialled back the puzzles in the sequels, and I do enjoy puzzles in third person games, still think about prince of persia sands of time on the ps2, which had a nice blend of increasingly difficult puzzles within a game with repetitive boss fights, but uncharted has become less about the puzzles and more about the spectacle and the traversing areas.
But @HatBeard wanted to know whether he should spend some time with it, and despite the game having some bits which are annoying, I don't think he'll have the same visceral reaction to it that he had with Fallen Order.. -

Thanks @Svig, let me know how you get on (not sure how keen I am to let Google Assist into my life just for this one task though). If the console was in "Always On" power mode, or whatever it is called, would there even be a need to power it remotely?
We're scratching the surface of cloud gaming aren't we? I bet such capabilities will come as standard when everything is done over the network.

uwot?

Ahhh, figured it out just now, you need the separate XBox app to switch it on then game pass to download. Google not necessary.
-
• #22215
cool. I'll set it downloading overnight sometime soon and check it out.
If it's Jedi Fallen Order minus the dark souls lite shit then it's probably not going to get my goat nearly as much.
In other news I've been playing the Spiderman DLC and some of the screwball challenges in that are super fucking annoying but in a way I actually want to beat them because fuck you screwball I CAN DO THIS. I got 100% in the base game and I swear to god I'll get it in the dlc if it kills me.

Having a break from Apex Legends and got properly hooked on CoD: Warzone.
Getting pretty good at it, but really hard to get wins. Lots of Top 5 or Top 3, but only one win so far.
It's really fun, but buggy as hell (and servers are pretty bad).
Kill record 16 :)

Total War: Shogun 2 is free on Steam at the moment

The servers have not noticably worse in the last couple of weeks. I've started warping around that. It's really annoying.

Yeah winning WZ is difficult or at least needs a big slice of luck, especially if you're playing with randoms.
I know a guy that is absolutely terrible and won one match (his squad mates aren't great either) so I guess it's luck of the draw.
My best is 2nd and that was because I was so annoyed with how rubbish my random team mates were that I took to the ultimate cowards tactic; jumped in a helicopter when I came back from the Goulag and just flew round and round the outside of the map - couldn't quite land it on the other team at the end though!
My best kills is 8 - I've ordered better internet as I'm pretty sure I'm being lagged out of a lot of gunfights.

I can remotely install games pass games on my xbox

Started control, weird going from one way of fighting/shooting in uncharted (a cover based system) to one which requires you to run and gun, keep moving, avoid cover and sprint between spots.
Lots of exposition via lead character internal monologue, but cut scenes and flashbacks are pretty cinematic.
Am a bit underwhelmed by the amount of extraneous info that you can collect. Feels like the design team decided that we’ve written all this stuff, we’re putting it in the game anyway. Makes it difficult to parse what is important info and what isn’t.. -

Cannot recommend @greenhell awful graphics and samey dialogue.

The main issue for me was input lag. With Destiny I found it totally unplayable

Project Cars 2 is free at the moment on XBox with Games with Gold. Incredibly hard with a controller... can't even get a single lap clean at Knockhill never mind race.
I'll give it another go at some point then, I guess. The games on offer are a bit meh, though. And I'm not dropping any money on a platform I don't really expect to last.
