I got a set of these last week but haven't put them on the bike yet. The material they are made of feels really strong and I would guess metal cages would fail sooner. They seem like a pretty good copy of the salsa anything hd cage to me. If you use straps instead of bolts to secure it to your forks, it's even better as it has little slots in them so the straps run closer to the cage.
The bags are a bit heavy though so I'll probably replace those.

Any opinions about Planet X Podsacs fork cages & bags? Cage+bag costs less than most other cages alone, wondering about durability. Generally speaking for a long-haul trip (say a yearlong) would you consider alloy/steel cages or plastic ones (Salsa HD, Podsacs, Topeak for example) better?
