S’ok I pulled the trigger now. was waiting to see if I wanted a rim before ordering, but hoping to get hold of a Sun Rhyno Lite xl. Sad that SJS don’t bother with much Sun stuff any more.

Does anyone know what happens if flip my shimano dynamo hub and run it in the opposite direction permanently? The lights work just fine, but is there something I’m missing?

Depending on the model I think it risks the internals unscrewing and borking themselves?

Yeah, after watching some videos on how to service the hub I thought of this myself. I’ll try to disassemble mine to see how much power it takes to unscrew it and then re-evaluate from that.

And not too spendy either.

So I just got my Son 28 hub, or wheel rather. I’m a bit worried if there’s something wrong with the hub. Because when I spin the wheel, the feeling in the hub isn’t smooth at all... maybe it’s how the mechanism affects it with such low force. But thought id ask here.

They all feel notchy and ruff as hell, it’s the magnets passing the thing or something. Magnets.

Yep, it feels rough spinning it at low speeds. But once on the bike and moving you won't notice it.

Yeah you won’t feel it when you’re riding unless you’re on perfect fresh laid tarmac with high tyre pressures.

Try cheapo hubs and you will feel a mega difference!

I also thought the hun would be delivered with a tru axle, but no. Any suggestions for one to get?
