I was worried about than when I got here but can't say I've seen any evidence to support it... A few of my guitars are permanently out of their cases and they've all been absolutely fine...

My band did a thing! I’m the one sporting a pink telecaster and a lockdown haircut.

That's excellent - thanks for sharing. That's the guitar that makes me want a pink guitar - I forgot who owned it.

That was brilliant! Really put a smile on my face! The Telecaster is looking and sounding great too and what's that 3 (?) string yellow thingamajiggy you've got! Pics of that please!

Thanks, the tele has evolved a little since I first built it - pearloid pickguard, and white knobs and P90 cover, and I’ve ditched the ‘modern’ Gotoh bridge for a trad ashtray style.
@Nahguavkire It’s my wee girl’s Loog 3-string. They’re for younger kids - she wouldn’t be able to get her hand around a 6-string just yet.
Thanks both for the kind comments about the video, I think we surprised ourselves a bit with what was possible using GarageBand, iMovie and Google Drive to collaborate remotely.

This is the best looking thing I've seen in a long time man, I'd love one of those for messing about the house! She's a lucky kid!!!
Unicorn strap lock is the real winner of course!

Finished all my templates yesterday for my new Mockingbird build. I'm finding myself being really careful with it because of all the pointy bits on it...
I've never actually held on before, and it's a lot smaller than I thought it would be. I was expecting it to be explorer / firebird size, but it's actually similar to a telecaster.
Until recently I haven't been able to order any wood to build it, so in the meantime I've finally found the motivation to tackle polishing the neck in the background. It's close - just needs a buff and attaching then that one will be finally done.

I have to say even though i'm a fender nut i love my recently acquired gibson junior and my epi SG - simplicity is hard to beat

Yeah, my bandmates have one on order from the Kickstarter for their wee boy, they look good!

Is that Telecaster neck one of yours?
I've been on the lookout for a beefy Tele neck and if you were interested in a commission I'd love a forum built one!

Yeah - that's one of mine. I had a fox living on my workshop roof at the time, so used him for my inlay... It was the first bit of inlay I tried - it's crude, but relatively close to a fox I think (or maybe a horse...:) )
I'd seriously be delighted to make something for you, that kind of 'commission' is exactly what I'm working towards being able to do eventually.
But I don't think I'm quite there yet - my setup isn't good enough yet, so at the minute I tend to get necks properly dressed, and also I only get a couple of hours a week so it would take a really long time to finish.
However, I want to finish this one for myself, then I promised a TV yellow LPJ to a mate...
After that I'll be out of space and my semi thought through plan is to maybe build a few at a slow pace for the cost of the woods for anyone interested and who can give me really good feedback on them.

Well by all means pencil me in! I'm in no rush and I'm happy to wait however long!
Ideally I'd love a quartersawn (maybe roasted) fat Tele neck, 21 fret and vintage specs to go on my planned pine Jazzcaster (or Telecaster, the plan is in its infancy and open to change...) but I'm in no rush for it really!

Done - you're on the list!

Fantastic! I look forward to it!

Not from my point of view, I was never a big fan... Maybe I was just too close to it back then, I really like them now... Tim Bricheno (All About Eve, Sisters of Mercy) once told me the same thing but I hated his music so didn't give a flying fuck! But that was a different rig, '81 Les Paul Standard into a MK1 Guv'nor into the same Twin... More Marshall than an actual Marshall...

I managed disconnect and drag the tone controls (from the new wiring loom) on the Riviera to the f-hole so that I could see them. Turns out the one I had already corrected the wiring discrepancy on is the one that's misbehaving. That means yanking at all out and amending the wiring on the other one is unlikely to help. As i'll definitely want new pickups at some point I decided to put it all back and live with it for now.
The weirdness is that the neck tone control is full on (the most treble) somewhere in the middle of the sweep and rolls treble off of when turned up or down from there. It's fine as long as you leave it on 5. Bit annoying though.
The other thing is that when in the middle position, either one of the two volume controls seems to act on both pickups. Weird as they work independently when on either of the single pickups. Not a major issue other than not being able to blend one pickup into the other or do the Pete Townshend semaphore thing. Still gonna go back to the seller and request a refund though.
Also been learning the Drive my Car solo. Very hip.

My guy said it was fine, it's probably had a prang at some point but there's no movement there at all... He said to keep an eye on it but didn't think it was gonna do anything, I suggested filling it with very thin Loctite and he gave me a 'why not?' look... I'll probably take it in to him for a little set up soon so he can have a go at it for me...
Do guitars in Oz see more finish cracking because of extreme temperatures?
