  • Did a imperial century on Zwift today. Deffo my longest ride. Did the Uber Pretzel route plus a bit extra to get the century. Tired now!

  • 28 pushups put me in the higher bracket again for W3. Missus didn't make the cut (14) so she's gonna try again later or repeat W2. I probably cheated a bit because I looked at the brackets and just made sure I did enough to get in the highest bracket whereas she didn't know the minimum group before starting so probably quit early. Serves her right the fucking quitter.

  • I have pulled my left hamstring somehow though so that's been giving me shit, not during pushups though. No idea how I did it, can you pull a hamstring from spending all your day sat on your arse?

  • You probably pulled in in the rare occasion that you got off your arse.
Kinda like a 1 rep max deadlift am I right?

  • Just did 58 push ups (15,12,11,10,10) only 3 beers deep, struggling at the end of each set but it's actual real progress, amounts that would've been impossible by themselves a couple of weeks ago. I'm using an app thing rather than a website, up until now I've knocked a bit of time off the rest periods, which were generally 1:30 or 1:00 minute, this lot was 2:30 between each one and I needed it.

  • this lot was 2:30 between each one and I needed it

That seems a long time to finish a beer

  • I have to place myself a bit as I can't burp(ee).

  • Up to 2200 burpees this month.
Started late so, so do I average 200 a day for the rest of this month?

  • You'll be a mental hero if you do.

  • #hippyisfat

I have a sneaking suspicion that it was done on the turbo. I have the laptop and phone on the bed to my right and I was definitely typing messages about a work thing that was going down while I was doing intervals at lunch one day last week. Twisting way over to the right combined with fairly high power is probably a recipe for hamstring damage.

  • I see the problem. You only had 3 beers, but there's 5 sets of pushups. You're simply not hydrating enough between each set. SIX beers next time, pre-workout, one for each rest and a recovery beer.

  • Thank you for your wisdom.

  • Any time.

Missus failed her second attempt so she's stuck on W2. I should get rid of her shouldn't I?

  • Robot arms, just be careful of getting a handy near electrical interference.

I left the BtD as a reward for finishing. Beer pushups are definitely easier.

  • Too much boozing and not enough burpees, need to get back on them tomorrow afternoon!

  • Did 200 burpees, 100 before lunch, 100 before dinner.
    10x7, 2x15, 9m each.

600 left to go, 3 days left!

My shoulder is aching a bit, I think because of tight pecs, going to do some yoga and crying on top of a foam roller tonight...

  • I think because of tight pecs

    Boast post.

I think I've put my back out to go with the hernia, or my liver has died, more beer is helping either way.

  • Perhaps beer would help me too.
Though I think I’ve missed my intermittent fasting window of the day...

  • I’ve got at least 1000 left, will finish them though!

  • Since lockdown I have done a TrainerRoad session every other day. It’s starting to feel a little too comfortable @hippy is it time for me to do a ramp test?

  • Are you following one of their plans? I normally don't bother touching FTP until a scheduled test but I will manually tweak the % if it's too hard / too easy. It's kind of lazy but also I like to have only tested FTPs in it compared to outdoors where it's more a case of race/test/intuition.

You could always do one and then carry on with an easier workout or do a double session day.

  • Am currently just doing a variety of the workouts from phase 1 of the base training plans. I look to see how much time I have free and chose a workout that fits my available time.

Am just thinking I could move on to phase 2 but wondering if the ftp ought to be raised a bit.

  • Any recommend app for tracking pushups?

  • I tried using the app Counter, but adding reps retrospectively got old.
The burpees I’ve been doing have been recorded on my Garmin watch with HR belt and auto uploaded to Strava to keep me honest.
