Because CX races are the biggest ballache to organise plus refunds of cancelled entries actually cost the organiser money. It would be very disheartening to put in the early work for nothing.

Yes, that began to occur to me after posting. Also wondered whether a lack of venues would be an issue. I’m guessing that councils and private landowners have either no enthusiasm or capacity to provide permission for some local bike races to happen in the current climate.
Just saddened because I was hoping cx was my light at the end of the tunnel (although I don’t race central league so that light is merely dimmed rather than extinguished).

Uh oh. Obviously not criticising the organisers because it’s a terrible situation for all, but I wonder why they made the decision so early? Even if racing was unlikely, there seems to be very little downside to a “wait and see” approach.
