I've got two of the exact same inner tubes, Vittoria Latex, same size, same everything. One of the tubes flats overnight and the other holds air really well.
When I inflated the tube that kept flatting, a 10cm section of it swelled up like a balloon animal, could that be the reason it's flatting overnight? No nicks etc. in the tube as far as I can tell.

You’ve set it under water when inflated?

If you want it to roll well I've been very impressed with kojaks in 2.0 and even off road they're fine as long as it's dry. Hard to beat city jets for the money though.

No not yet, when I inflated the tube I tried to listen for a hiss. When I tried inflating it more it ballooned.
Probably a good idea to go back to the underwater technique -

Anyone tried Yksion Allroad XL?

Latex tubes do that, be careful inflating without a tire. I had the same problem, turned out the valve extender needed extra tightening.

@platypus Regarding larger 26" tires, heres my rant about the GEAX/Vittoria Booze light https://www.instagram.com/p/B7RdnzklFV4/
But since they are out of production, maybe give their Tattoo Light a try

And maybe its been mentioned before, but panaracer made a 26 x 2.1" gravel king.
Disappointingly small though :/

Also looking for faster rolling 26". Has anyone tried Halo's folding bead 26x2.2 offerings? Twin Rail II S is 696g, H-block SLR 26x2.2 in black is 535g, apparently. Or is sticking to Kojak , DTH , Tattoo the best bet.

What's the best 700c road (25mm ish) clincher for grip these days?
Most of the online comparison things seem to focus on puncture protection and weight. -
• #6993
too narrow

thx all for suggestions

Another vote for Conti Speed King 26x2.2
At only 430g, they are lighter than pretty much anything else similar. I've had mine for over a year, ridden them fairly hard and only one puncture I think.

Probably because to test grip you need to push it to the edge and then crash. Repeatedly. Testing for puncture protection and weight, even rolling resistance, is much easier.
YMMV but I find Pirelli tyres very grippy. Very impressed with GP5000s too

Has anyone tried conti double fighters?
-
• #6999
I read somewhere that Conti's were actually less grippy than veloflexes in the wet. The theory went that once you lost grip on the veloflexes you were really railing it over and tended to crash, where the Conti's lost grip earlier and thus were easier to keep upright.
Helpfully, I don't use either and tend to use Vittoria or challenge, with the Vittoria being a bit more confidence inspiring in the wet. -

I'm constantly bloody pondering it, it's almost annoying. I found a little cut in my rear tyre yesterday too, which just about justifies the time I've spent thinking about it.
That does look good, I hadn't thought of maxxis beyond the re-fuse.
looking at the DTH, the ride cruisers are almost 1kg each!
