Soz it’s not actually fully built like that yet, I hadn’t used it for a few months, then decided to rebuild it a different style and all that black kit is nicked off my road bike to see how I like it. I like it a lot as it turns out so full black build kit and farsports 30mm rims with DT track hubs are on their way for it.

Nice to see a few bikes with back brakes in here. I wouldn’t be without one for long rides. It’s nice to help control your cadence down hill with the brake to save energy and get some balance. I find the back going light when you’ve just got a front brake too unsettling.

Don't mean to come across as a dick but if you want a rear brake to control your cadence and you can't manage the speed of your bike with your legs (and if you use your front brakd often), I don't see a point in riding fixed. It's counter-intuitive. A single speed cog would be ideal for that kind of use.

Yeah I'm not sure about road riding - only have a front on my road fixed - but I have done FGCX and been happy many times to have had a rear as well. It was helpful with balance and cadence especially at slower speeds and down slippery hills, so I'm not sure I'd say having a rear brake on fixed is counter-intuitive. Maybe just a bit redundant, but everyone descends their own way (especially fixed).

Ah shit, you sort of do, and yes I can, it’s an incremental comfort thing more than a fundamental problem with riding fixed.

two brakes on fixie. are essential, dont at me.

I don't see a point in riding a bicycle. Walking is possible.
Two calipers on your road fixed is nice, but not necessary, in just the same way as having a bicycle at all is nice but not necessary.

Having a rear brake is lovely if you're doing anything long.

Each to their own. I use that bike regularly do 40-60 mile rides and often in the last ten miles my legs can be flat out fucked. Then it’s nice to have a back brake on a steep downhill.
You called?
