You sure ?

Yeah pretty sure. I ran through the installation of the rear mech this morning to eliminate it. Its set correctly within the 4-6mm gap.
Anything about the b gap adjustment you can tell me that I'm somehow missing?

Try winding it off half and turn and see if it remedies it ?

so right now the issue is completely gone since moving the drive side out 2.5mm by switching some spacers.
But while going through setting up the derailleur this morning, as if for the first time, I went back and forth, adjusting the b-gap and limit screws slightly each time to see if any combo would stop the skipping. Nothing made a difference. Finished setting up the derailleur and shifting was perfect.
This was before I had realised that its a chain line issue. So I don't think the b-gap would really make a difference since its moving the jockey wheel up and down and not side to side.
edit - hope i dont sound like a smart arse in that last sentence, would like to hear all ideas! very possible i'm misunderstanding all of what the b-gap does

I'm contemplating putting the cranks set back to its original position and attaching my gopro to the seat stay so I can try see exactly what the chain is doing

Just as a bit of an FYI, I bent the hanger on my SuperSix and when I replaced it, I checked it with my hanger alignment tool and it wasn't aligned.

Ok yeah thats actually a pretty good point. I think I'm going to invest in a hanger alignment tool for the future.
I'll just have to get into town to a bike shop. Lots of lock down shaming going on tho! dont want to get pointed out for trying to fix my flashy bike...

Hanger bent probably. In some cranks when you put small/small the chain scrapes the big ring. You should never ride that gear anyways, if anything else works fine is a non-issue.

Systemsix in the previous page looks vomit. Boring all black aero melt full of logos

eh?

Just being facetious. Independent bike shops around here have implemented 'one customer in at a time' rules and emphasising key workers are being prioritised.
Also been reports of people being called out in public for allegedly breaking lock down rules, unnecessary travel etcBut I was of course joking anyway. I'll get my coat...

Still half looking for a supersix disc frameset, but loving this at the moment.

A slowly evolving work in progress. Love the way it rides.

Do you have the matching kit?
-
• #12393
Ha! I thought to myself, there’s nothing subtle about this bike, can’t hurt to try more. Black bar tape to go on soon. I don’t really like the gaudy lizard skins tape on there now.

I’d have to be a great deal faster to get away with trying anything like that!

Retro question 1:
When i browse the catalogues on vintagecannondale.com the photos almost never show special brandings like saeco/cipollini on the top tubes but only the model numbers.
For example for my black cad 3, how do i know what model it is (in particular in case the original parts have been replaced)?
Can i see it from the frame number?
Closest i got are the two screens attached.
retro question 2:
Are there differences in the frames (and not the components) between the different models R2000, R800 etc?
Thanks and cheers

I'm loving the simplicity of my Hooligan at the moment which has spurred me on to get a (kinda) matching silver 1994 r1000 as a cheap fun fast bike, since discovering a crack in my German plastic best bike.
The 650c wonder is due to arrive tomorrow, I'll take this for the time being though.

Anyone got a purple CAAD 58 disc they want to move on?

Accidentally joined the club with a 58 hi mod disc frameset.
Yeah I'll certainly get it checked. But the chain line was off at the top side of the teeth on the cassette. If the hanger was bent it would be moving the mech and jockey wheels out of alignment and it didn't look like that. I realise those last sentences are probably clear as mud...
Shifting is also perfect which I'd have thought wouldn't be the case if the hanger was bent?
But shifting the spacers on the axle has fixed the problem. But it's annoying that it's not working while set up at correct spec.
My local lbs that I have a good relationship with and could walk in and probably get alignment checked there and then is closed right now due to lock down. But I'll go else where to check frame/dropout/hanger alignment.
