Yeah, the unboxing and the build is half the fun tbh.

New wing day! Deeper/wider wing needed for racing later in the year. Test fit looks pretty good.

For the next shell planning a gunmetal to maroon sick fade. But which way round? Gunmetal or maroon at the front?
-
• #1218
I would go maroon front, don't know why, just would.

You reckon they would fade well? One is a candy and the other is a flat colour right?
I’d be tempted to do a fairly basic masked transition from one to the other with a black outline. Maroon from the front. Couple of ‘escaping’ outlined maroon bits towards the back of the shell
Or something

The gunmetal is the backing for the candy maroon, so maybe?
Either way, it’s the two paints I have right now and fancied trying something else

Test spray on an off cut will tell you!
Airbrush arrived a couple of days ago. Waiting for pro line paint to come back in to stock :/

I recon it might work.
My secret to doing a sick fadez is to spray clear lacquer down first and fade the lightest colour onto that while it's still wet, You'll get a great gradient then. Definitely do a test card first though, so you know how much of a blend you want.
I've used this technique for a few years, worked well when we did a load of Le Creuset prototypes for a project, fading the orange into red.
Cheers, yeah I’ve been looking at the bundles etc and how it all works out. I’d def hope to keep it under £200ish drivable If possible. I’m going to hold off for now as I’m a sucker for new hobbies...
Thanks for the offer @doubleodavey but I suspect I’ll enjoy the unboxing and building more than the driving so would rather start from fresh :)
