They are a bit rough. Weirdly, one is worse than the other. They have had the plinth removed, too, but that is less of an issue

I've spent a good few hours reading about network streamers, networked amplifiers, active wireless speakers - Kef lsx was high in list. The rabbit hole is reminding me why I ditched any hifi but basic stereo setups.... Software issues plague everything. And that's the last thing I want to mess with. And subscribe to this service, setup that network, firmware this.... Blurgh. I've come full circle and now just want a turntable, some warm sounding bookshelf speakers and a mellow amp. But with a 4 year old and a new baby coming very shortly I'm just going to use what I have and get a DAC with some wireless connectivity.

Oh yeah. Look a bit like a shabby IILZs in my living room.
Unless the new cabs are a great deal, I’m sure the ones you have could be refinished to a good standard for less money.

Actually looking forward to investigating the difference between Sonos headphone out to amp and chromecast + Spotify to amp.

Ah cool. Gonna do some experimentation with CCA & Tidal, might well take you up on it.

newbie question - what do people recommend for linking wireless/bluetooth headphones (Sony WH-1000XM3) up to a small hifi like the Denon D-M37DAB?
I've been looking at bluetooth transmitters for £50 - £70 on Richer Sounds and the SONRU mentioned by @ChasnotRobert but wondered if that's the only/best bang for buck option. Thanks all.

I have an Aventree Oasis which I'm very happy with. Costs about 40quid and has a signal strong enough to go from living room to kitchen and upstairs in our Victorian terrace house without issue. You can also use it as a receiver and stream audio from a phone (or whatever) to play out the hi-fi. I was very close to going down the Sonos route, so it's saved me £££s

The SONRU thing works but range is poor. Much worse than the built in Bluetooth on my laptop, for example.
I think the Avantree Oasis mentioned above might be a better option. Also quite a few things on Ali Express if you wan to take a punt.

Phono stages. Should take a punt on a £200 Pro-ject Tube Box DS to replace my (probably) crap TC754? Will is transform my life for the better?

Phono stages matter. What cartridge are you using?

£200 gets you a new Phono Box S2 Ultra. New solid state amp or second hand obsolete valve amp? You decide.
Of course, if you want a project to while away the long hours of lock down, you can get the valve amp and start auditioning alternative 12AX7s till the cows come home. They're not terribly expensive, from about £5 a pair for Soviet military surplus to £80/pr for #tartmode ones.

Audio Technica AT110e, Linn Basik Plus and a modified Thorens TD166 MKII
What’s wrong with the current cabs?
