Sounds fair :)

That's what I thought. Mine was a respray so I didn't mind swapping it for something original.

Hi All,
I just recently became owner of my first Merckx frame (yes, I'm Belgian) and decided to make it as modern, yet neo retro as possible (correct saddle height still to set and bartape to add). It's a MX Leader that I bought with the merckx carbon fork and stronglight o'light headset. Serial is F17XX so according to @emerxil, it should be 94/95. There is a Flyer for sale right now with the same color scheme and the carbon fork seems genuine. So repainted? Not original fork? Any thoughts?

P F1758 was built in spring 1994; repainted? yes - not before 2002; not original fork? - yes, no carbon fork was used at EMC in 1994.

Ok, thanks to clarify. Appreciated! Reading your previous posts I was expecting this indeed. Do you know until what year steel bikes were produced? I know of the motorola reissue in 2005? And a Molteni reissue also? I found 2 examples of leaders with the 2002 Merckx lettering. See pictures. Also repaint?

EMC built steel frames for sure until March 2006 (this is the limited series of 100 Corsa Extra frames in 7-Eleven colours). A report on YT - merckx.m4v - mentions that steel frames account for 5-10% of production (the video is probably from 2002), which means 250-450 frames per year. The frames you showed were painted in EMC, without knowing the serial numbers, it is impossible to determine whether this is the original painting.

I've been using my MX Leader from the previous page as my daily permitted exercise bike for the last month, and already love it.
But I've been feeling like the Dude after he had his rug stolen. From an aesthetics point of view the black pedals having been steadily gnawing away at me, so that itch has been scratched and I've replaced them with some yellow ones. I now feel like the rug has been returned, and the bike is just how I want it, the yellow pedals just bring it all together man :)

Thanks, been searching for a corsa extra for what feels like a year at this point. Didn't even intend on finding an MX Leader, but the moment I saw it I pulled the trigger and paid up.

What size?
No the frameset, a pair of Shamal 12 HPW Titanium and some other bits.
