  • So I switched some spacers around.

NDS had 7.5mm spacer which is now 5mm. DS had 2.5mm which is now 5mm.

So Ive moved the whole assembly out board by 2.5mm

Just rode up and down the street there and the slipping has stopped! Hurrah.

But... what issues has moving it 2.5mm outboard introduced? Should I really be worried much about it now or just be happy that its working the way I want it to but my feet are now 2.5mm out of position?

I don't really know much about q-factor and what it does or how it affects me to be honest. I'll have to google and read up on it.
I need articles explaining q-factor in simple terms for an idiot like me.

Never had issues like this with BSA and shimano gearing... :(

  • What’s the crank / chain stay clearance on the NDS like? If it’s fine you could counter the movement by cleat adjustments or pedal axle shims.
