Oh. Well, depends. There might be other avenues out of this that could be ‘acceptable’. The ones I’ve read about sound shit or borderline wishful thinking though.
But it might be that we find it’s possible to manage the symptoms more effectively through new or existing therapies. If that’s the case the need for a vaccine could decrease and yes the reward with it. Nice problem to have. The medical/scientific world and his significant other is working on this too.

It just seems hard to predict the value of a vaccine given the variability of factors.

Isn't the problem with Rhinoviruses (colds) that the buggers mutate so much and there are 100s of them?
The other cold like coronas just aren't dangerous enough to attract lots of investment, they seem to be 10-15% of what we would call "a cold".
If SARS2 is reasonably stable, like the flu, perhaps we can have success this time. If not, whew... we have to infect everyone strong enough on purpose in phases?
Don't really want a Black Plague scenario of "congrats, you now have a boosted immune system and gene pool permanently and 1-3% of your population is gone, soz"

Clap for Boris event proposed for tonight, 8pm.
-
• #9759
I'll clap when he tries to fulfill his promises that are under his control.
Like automatic EU citizen rights to stay/benefits which is Tory mates ALL voted down end of 2019 and so did he.
So... not tonight then.

The realisation microorganisms are the real owners of this planet is a big one.
HG Wells wrote about it in 1897

He has coronavirus as well doesnt he?

Well apparently having been exposed to some viruses like herpes can make immune response less effective for other viral infections, but increase protection against some bacterial infections including the plague.
I also read studies that showed mice infected with Lyme bacteria then go on to produce a lower immune response to influenza virus so there's a relationship between historic viral and bacterial exposure and how well your body will respond to future infections.

Interesting Special Report from Reuters today:
Johnson listened to his scientists about coronavirus - but they were slow to sound the alarmStephen Grey is the guy who uncovered extraordinary rendition, so particularly credible.

You can feel it in the air. Which is why social distancing is so important.

Ah. Weasel words.
Either you knowing posted a rumour or you posted information that is a violation of medical privilege.
Either way bad form and terrible judgement.
