What exactly is the rationale behind painted breaking surfaces [except that it looks nice when you wheel it out of the shop]?
i was just wondering as i have a nice pair of arayas on shimano DX hubs at home which have max been ridden 100miles within 30 years and they already look like shit

TBF my Criterium has anno'd rims, and as I only ever ride it when it's bone dry they've stayed fine. I've also not ridden it very much.
