  • Strong opening comment.

  • bye.

  • @Velocio just what no-one needs at the moment - troll in the shape of @user110903

  • We're all an advocate for you cocking off elsewhere and aborting your cuntish behaviour.

  • Worry is that we keep going amidst big daily death rates for a good while as you say (year?). Can we stick it socially as a strategy? It's very depressing just to contemplate.

  • I think the general public needs to fear the virus or there is no support for necessary restrictions. Which means some deaths.

With 20/20 hindsight we could have closed all international borders an New Years Day. Would be really hungry by now though.

  • Yeah they had a circle chug recently. they both hate immigrants, which worries me as an immigrant, although he seems to not mind the Russian/German retiree immigrants so I might be fine.

Orbans oxford education was funded by the communist party. May not be relevant as he’s more fascist just an interesting point.

    👍👍👍

  • My disaster preparedness plan involved marrying someone who trained as a hairdresser.

  • I'm sure they'll be back.

  • Oh well. Thanks!

  • the current UK long-term strategy

    Current being the operative word.

  • Yeah the efficiency drive and constant benchmarking between hospitals and metrics are virtually all output based and Lord Carter’s report really pushed it on.

  • Side note actually a huge fan of the fine for spreading shite.

    Absolutely love that.

Quite a few of the current political establishment in the UK is ex-revolutionary communist party, and Brendan O'Neill is probably the noisiest journalist to hail from the RCP.

It's the horseshoe theory of political alignment.

  • Some positive thoughts on long term strategy

    • antibody test will have a big impact on freeing a set of people to return to normal
    • increase in antigen testing capacity will allow us to get on top of new out breaks down the line more quickly
    • same for increased sophistication of contact tracing
    • knowledge of symptoms will improve even for mild / asymptomatic cases allowing people to know when to quarantine
    • NHS capacity will expand
    • a vaccine might be developed

I think we will see current restrictions relaxed in 8-12 weeks somewhat. Whether and if we return to normal relies on a lot of factors if is hard to predict.

  • Plus the Black Death created the social and economic conditions for the Renaissance, so look on the bright side.

  • The Nightingale excel hospital is a pretty amazing achievement.
So to add to the things we can do when we have to, we can:

    Re-nationalise key industries
Offer a proper safety net to everyone
    House the homeless
Develop viral testing and antibody test really quickly
    Infringe of freedom
Engage a network of local people to support local vulnerable people
    Much more obv

  • Did mine this morning, about 8 months of growth, could've gone better but I think I've paid for worse.

  • Is there a covid-19 hairstyle thread yet?

  • I hope so. I need to see them

  • I'm considering a Covid-19 baseball cap purchase, but I'm a bit lost with all the choice.

  • You start!

    I immediately regret my decision!

  • Yeah, it's called tik tok. we've all seen it.
