Thought this beast must have been posted somewhere on here :-)
Question perhaps for @t0-ster
I'm considering getting an Ominium, although at 6'7" I'm wondering if the XL will be big enough? The sizing chart suggests so, but I've read ( possibly here ) that it's best to size up on an Omnium, which in my case would unfortunately not be possible
It does look pretty big

I know I'm glad I didn't go with a medium like I was originally considering.
Even the large has a shorter top tube (56) than my track bike...and the seat tube is about 57.5 C to T.
I have a 110 stem on there and I think a 120 would feel closer to my normal reach, especially as the bars are higher on the omnom. -

You mean you aren’t getting Matt to build you a cargo bike too?
-

interesting. my thinking is that if there's any uneveness on the ground, it would be more stable to lift the back wheel. Also convenient for punctures

I got a Medium (I'm 1.80m) and regret not getting a Large tbh. With a 120mm stem and Mary bars* there's a lot that's encroaching over the cargo area.
*I like a bit of sweep but didn't want bars that shorten the reach too much. Wouldn't that happen with Jones bars?

I removed the stand originally because it's heavy as fuck, but I soon realised its value when the bike kept sliding along poles and windows it was leaned against
Lol, I went though the other exact same process with my mini maxi.

Jeff's thinking with the loop bars forward sweeping crossbar was so that you wouldn't need to change the stem length to have the same 'reach', compared to the original straight crossbar of the h bar, which needed a longer stem.
I'm hoping the mini Jones will be the same as my carbon loop bars, which don't feel cramped either.
They're only 600mm wide at the tips, so my hands should be weighted in a similar position to the flat bars I have now, just with my elbows more tucked in.
I won't know for definite until they arrive though (gulp).
Also the bag I made is a parallelogram shape, so it angles forwards away from the bars, so I don't have too much interference with the controls. The different brake lever position on Jones should give even more clearance.
This is all theoretical at the moment though. 😜 -

Is this the right place to ask for trailer recomendations? If not point me in the right direction.
I'm thinking about a single wheel trailer like this for tools. However, I'd like the frame around the platform to be removable in case I have to carry wider loads. Any ideas?

Ta, I see if I can google up some measurements and get BikeCad on the case!

One day, Matt will live in my shed and work only for my amusement

I went for a XL at 185cm. It's the right length top tube for me, but not so much standover. I reckon you'd need a pretty long stem, but could probably make it work. Omnium geo is a bit weird.

If both wheels are on the floor the bike wants to roll away (only a problem on slopes really). Also if it’s designed for both wheels to be on the ground, it will be unstable on uneven ground.

I’m 6’3 and L fits me perfectly, and I’ve trimmed a couple cm from the steerer. I do have 75mm rise bars on it, but if I wasn’t putting in 8-9 hours days in would be fine to drop down an inch more. I’m also running a longer (by cargo bike standards) stem. Reckon XL will be fine for you.
Re: longer stems and handlebar choice discussed above, my advice, particularly with larger size where you have more space beneath the stem, is ignore any perceived clearance issues and get the bike comfortable and handling well. There are so many ways to load (rack extension, 45degree angle placement, 2x boxes overhanging edges and ratchet strapped etc.) saving 50mm of space is not worth it.

Cheers Jon. If you get a chance, could you please measure the seat tube, head tube and fork for me? I'll be able to mostly work out what sort of stem length and bar height I might need from there.
I realise I'll not be able to set it up for an all day riding position, but if I can get it comfortable enough for an hour or two that'd be fine :-)

Thanks for that. I expect I'd want some high rise bars too, as It would mostly be a sit up & beg type bike for doing the weekly big shop :-)

Worst case - get a new rear wheel with a lesser internal gear hub? Should set you off less than £100 and keep you going.
5 speed SA rear wheel in 700c:

Interesting. Had not accounted for this!
Just thinking with panniers / probably a child on the back... I don’t want to use a steerer stabilisation thingy

Trying to get a general idea. Mainly guesswork, going off photos and the published top tube length and standover height
Altering where the fork is might be beyond my abilities though

Having this in mind, id say you could get the XL to work fine :) I can get those measurements for you tomorrow if its too much a hassle for Jon.
Im 193 (6'3) and my Large is great for me, but i also like a short TT and some decent saddle to bar drop.
The next thing on my list is to make some proper geo charts for the website for all the bikes.

I don't have an answer for you.
But
Bit of a dead thread but, might be some help there:

Strange looking Bullitt
It's the newer Omnium stand.
One benefit I'm noticing with it lifting the wheel is that it makes it easier to remove the wheel rather than trying to flip the bike over.
I removed the stand originally because it's heavy as fuck, but I soon realised its value when the bike kept sliding along poles and windows it was leaned against while I was loading and unloading. It's a necessary evil. :)
