Is this a stock Cannondale CAAD5 seatpost clamp? Is it 31.8? Does anyone have one spare?!

@Tijs has it right, they're Wolber Profil 18's. Not recommended - very narrow and flexy :D
When they wear out (which they will due to having practically no brake track) I'll probably replace them with Ambrosio Crono F20 or something similar, still tubs but much more reliable.

Actually, those are stock Fulcrum racing sport wheels which I have destickered.

Hah, not bad

New member of the club, got the frame on here. Supersix Evo HiMod, Etap, 60mm Reynolds clinchers.

The ride is great, although wheels are pretty hard to handle in the wind. Will probably get a set of 45mm rims. Also waiting for a new stem, once that’s arrived and I’m happy with fit, I’ll lose the rest of the steerer.

Whats wrong with that stem?

Took the bung out of my caad7 and noticed somebody has smashed a star nut halfway down the steerer at some point. Its pretty rusty so god knows how long its been down there. Is it fucked? Steerer has also been chopped lop sided which suggests a properly ham fisted mechanic has been at this

Some of the old carbon stuff had star nuts from the factory.

Steerer also looks like its been overtightened at some point. Great

Didnt know this was possible with carbon. I'll just keep an eye on it. Already riding a super thin 20 year old frame so whats a bit more risk :)

I don’t think they knew either! It’s just what they did with the first full carbon forks.

I found this with my Premium+ full carbon.

Same as you i was surprised to find it there but i've since heard the early forks had reinforced steerers to allow this to be done this safely. Not sure if this just means extra layup thickness. I've gently tapped mine down and used a shallow expanding bung but i think it would off been fine to use the star nut.

Absolutely banging bike!

That’s someone tightening their stem bolts before the top cap bolt, and they’ve kept going at the top cap bolt because it wouldn’t tighten enough. I stupidly did it on my very first bike.
Then took it to a bike shop and they said it was too much hassle to get out so they just knocked it further down the fork where it shall always remain...

I still want a NOS 56cm System Six, here's my old one, which I still miss.
