That ribbon thing sounds totally ridiculous. But they used to use smoke in wind tunnels so maybe some old boys thought they could see aerogainz.
Roll-down tests were what people did before wind tunnels, Chung method, alphamantis, aeropods.

100% agree ribbons and smoke are totally ridiculous although it's someone blowing weed in your face at least you'll be wasted and not just your time. If i stumble across anything like that i watch it more for amusement. Never heard of the chung method so I'm sure that'll kill a couple hours for me this afternoon.

Now that would be time well spent in a tunnel. "Load me up another smoke wand, Mr Boardman!"

Looking to purchase a turbo and the Elite Suito seems to fit all my needs.
Only thing is that all my bikes have mudguards - can anyone with experience confirm if I can leave the mudguards on?

Device crashed at the very end of a ramp test! So angry...

Sensible amount of time before a retest. Sunday?
-
• #2787
Don't see why not.

Tomorrow? You definitely don't need 48 hours rest after a ramp.
I always test with training in my legs, unless it's right before going into a race block and it's a longer CP test which will be closer to actual events.

Maybe. I’m not too fussed about the number at the moment more making the workouts have most value.
Is 18mins parity? 19 a slight improvement? -

Quick summary of all the options and free trials here: https://bikerumor.com/2020/03/15/every-indoor-training-platform-compared-zwift-vs-kinomap-vs-rouvy-vs-sufferfest-vs-veloton-vs-bkool-vs-cvrcade-and-more/
Only tried RGT so far, graphics seem beyond my laptop which does Zwift fine.
Basic RGT is always free but you can currently get Premium features for free as well, not activated that yet.

Just test again. Too high FTP and you'll be struggling if you train every day

Don't confuse it with your manualing stand
Before wind tunnels I've seen some really basic aero testing which involves sticking bits of ribbon to you and just riding on the turbo in front of a massive fan. Probably some videos still on YouTube if we've got nothing better to do for the next couple of months? Or you can just practice making your frontal profile as small as possible in the mirror. It's how Chris Boardman started and he got quite fast.
