Didn't think so. Most older turbos (at least the ones I've used) aren't wide enough for the big arses on thru axle bikes.

what about track nuts that will fit. That must be a thing, right?
Yes. My missus has a set and used them on her Langster with my JetFluid trainer when she trained for the Revolve 24hr. I actually suggested she look for them last night after telling her not to go to ride RP.

Thanks for the advice. Will see if I can find something like those so can at least use the fixed bike.

Decathlon sell one but I don't know what the compatibility is.

Obviously all out of stock, but it looks like there was previously a fluid turbo trainer that cost about 75 pounds, sold under various brands (lifeline, FWE, etc)
I guess what I want to know, was this a normal price? Almost everything else I've ever seen is/was about £200+. I have never paid attention to turbos, let alone wanted one but obviously the current situation... has changed my opinion and I want to know vaguely what kind of price a basic dumb trainer was before "the incident".

unfriends
In other news the first 'corona inspired session' (TM) happened this morning. Turns out a sweet spot session is quite fun and not as knackering as I expected. Tune in to this thread for the lowdown on Friday session and other cabin fever delaying news.

Damm, did sort of see this coming, had option to buy a bunch of elite turbo trainers last month, ah well
Loaned out my old tacx analogue unit to a customer and will get the newer tacx smart trainer out, just the basic satori /vortex soemthing like that. Was very very glitchy when I first got it but a later firmware update made it actually work. Not a big power guy so quite happy with it -

Have you considered a ramp test?

Sweet spot is supposed to be challenging but manageable isn't it? So you could do 5 a week (.....)

Yep. You should be able to do this an hour of this daily (depending on external factors like stress, lack of sleep etc).

Couple of years ago I was training for a while and after retested increase got my FTP near to 4w/kg.
Which was great, but for me it meant I could only just complete the sweetspot workouts. Lost my motivation for training at that point. Should have just dropped the ftp back to where it was.
Anyway, guessing I over test or something. -

Anyway, guessing I over test or something.Seems as distant as the dark side of the moon today, but when I was doing 2 hours of zone 2 (mainly around Regents) four days of the week, then two turbo sessions (one 2x20, one punchy intervals) per week I was at 4w/kg, and my record (although this really hurt) was 90% of FTP for 4.5 hours.

4w/kg
I knew Grupetto would 1up EC1 collective in every aspect!

3.5 w/kg minimum for entry. If you haven't got to 4w/kg in six months you have your membership revoked.
Yeah, and there's about 40 variations so as soon as you get a different brand of TA bike in the house you need another overpriced bolt.
